We had a better manager than him already in charge!

Ultimately he’s not that arsed. Bags of ability but he’s just here for some experience and he’s back at Man City in May. Lacks the intensity and the fight needed in the situation we are in. -
The most damning thing to say about Rowett is that he is worse than Cifuentes. That’s a statistical fact. Sacked by Oxford ffs, what did the club expect?
-
In Rowett’s last 5 games he is averaging 0.6 points a game….
-
What about switching Fatawu to the left and giving a chance to the more direct style of Richards on the right? Monga hasn’t done much when he’s started.
-
I’d bring Vestergaard back in. He’s been our best defender this season (low bar I know) and his distribution is significantly better than Okoli’s and Lascelles’. I’d even risk Lascelles alongside Vesty, our best defence had two slow centre backs in Wes and Huth and these two are the best we have in the squad this year.
-
Rowett needs to perform wonders in the last 5 games to have a better points per game than Cifuentes. 🥴🤣
-
BDCR has been a real disappointment. Goals are great and he’s one of our better finishers but remember he’s not a number 9, he’s a midfielder and his involvement in general play hasnt been enough. He’s too often anonymous and part of the reason we are out worked and outplayed. Remember this guy was signed as an experienced Premier League player (as reflected in his wage), not as a Championship squad option. The fact he doesn’t ever start despite our league position in the 2nd tier says it all.

My dad has cancelled his season ticket. I’ve kept mine and my lads but my dad has had enough. It’s a sad moment really, it’s been our thing for many years and whilst my lad has started going as he’s become old enough it won’t be the same. This is all on the club, on Top and Rudkin. Their prolonged terrible mismanagement, the prolonged lack of respect shown to the fans, the terrible, joyless football by overpaid players not putting in the effort, the erosion of the togetherness that we had when Vichai was alive, the loss of fan hope and ultimately the ending of our family tradition. All things must pass I know but what a sad way to end it. 😔

If we get relegated Rowett needs to be binned. If we somehow stay up Rowett needs to be binned.
-
Terrible appointment. Why the club thought a manager who had failed so recently at Oxford was going to inspire our players god knows. Same set up every match. Obsessed with certain players who clearly aren’t good enough. Same late substitutions. Same delusional post match chat. Ignores the youth. Averaging 1 point a game.

I’ve already stated that Skipp (and Winks) are not helped by the manager’s inability to change his formation. From a footballing perspective Skipp has shown us very little in his time here other than in one game.
-
I actually think he comes across as a nice lad off the pitch but in a Leicester shirt he hides in pressure situations and plays wall passes in pressure situations. He’s a second slower to react when he does have the ball at his feet so loses the ball a lot for someone who doesn’t really play with any risk. He’s also not got the composure to finish when he does find himself in the higher 8 position. I agree it’s a crap team and within that it’s a weak midfield with a manager who is locked into one formation (and maybe that’s not helping Skipp or Winks) but I just think midfielders need to dominate play, and I don’t ever see Skipp doing that, creatively or defensively.
-
Play two 8’s! The double pivot hasn’t worked all season
-
These willy pullers will rock up and play total football when they are already relegated
-
Nope. Oliver Skipp is the modern day Gareth Williams. The game passes him by. Winks plays on the half turn, plays the ball forwards, has some creativity. Skipp has no creativity and isn’t good enough defensively to get away with that lack of creativity. The very worst thing about Skipp is he hides from the ball.
-
He’s fluffed them mate. He hides whenever there’s potentially a risky pass that he might receive. He wall passes, rarely plays on the turn, lets anyone else take responsibility.
-
Based on Rowett’s ppg here and at Oxford it’s guaranteed to be 2 losses, 1 win and 2 draws. 5 points in 5 games. I’m going for LCFC v Swansea Draw pompey v LCFC draw lcfc v hull loss lcfc v Millwall loss blackburn v LCFC (already relegated pressure off) convincing Win.
-
Skipp doesn’t work harder. Winks tracks back, covers the full back and never hides from the ball. Skipp hides from the ball.
-
The idea that Skipp is the better option than Winks and plays the ball faster is more than fanciful. He’s a passenger. Wall passes, hides on the pitch and we score when he gets hooked when we are no longer playing one man down in the absolutely key area of central midfield.
-
Keeps playing Winks?? It’s Skipp that’s the passenger in this midfield.
-
Serves up the same every match. Same tired formation, same players playing the same cautious football, same subs. No doubt same bullshit sound bite at the end too. 1 point a match. Get him in the bin.
-
We are down, he might as well take us there. Not really sure it was ever wise to sack Cifuentes and replace him with a manager deemed not good enough by fkin Oxford tbh

Away v Sheff Weds. 06/04/26 Match Thread

Skipp is always totally redundant -
If we lose this, I’d definitely let Gareth know that Blackburn away will be his last game. He won’t have the ability to manage us in League 1.
