  1. Mods can you start banning use of the *checks notes* pun? đŸ€Ł
  2. Where have I said that mate? FYI I don’t agree with bootlicking and I do believe in protest. I was one of the few that went on the march last season to the KP alongside the BSLBoys and UFS. I’m just not sure booing specific players, booing the collective team at times and constant negative chanting at a newly appointed manager is a particularly effective protest unless you see the team failing as the ultimate end goal of the protest but that’s my opinion. I also don’t think booing the players and chanting negative songs about the manager is an action you have to perform to prove you aren’t a bootlicker but again that’s my opinion.
  3. Ok mate you clearly know best.
  4. I’ve not told them how to act. I’ve told them to crack on and boo if they want to. So you’re wrong on that point. I simply asked the question as to how they think it will help the team perform better. From an individual performance perspective I would say booing your own players (even before they’ve kicked a ball) is not likely to help them perform better. If I was an opponent fan or team I would also be encouraged and motivated by an opposition fanbase that is focused on abusing their own players and manager. I’d imagine opposition managers will use it in every pre match team talk.
  5. Let’s keep foxestalk an echo chamber where the only correct thing to do in the situation we are in is to boo our own players and sing negative songs about the newly appointed manager. Ignore the encouragement that this abuse gives to the opposing team and opposing fans. Booing a player, even before they’ve kicked a ball is undoubtedly only to improve their ability and lack of confidence eh? Sure it is.
  6. So will abusing those older players make us any better as a team? Will the younger players hearing that abuse think. This is fine, the fans are booing but I know that it’s nothing to do with me and also actually this toxic atmosphere is really helping me play even better!
  7. Is the ongoing abuse going to help this young team succeed, gain promotion and be in a better position to get sold? If it is then crack on. I personally suspect it probably won’t help but hey wtf do I know. There seems to be a general consensus on here that the only true fan, the only true intellectual, studied, tactically aware fan. The fan that sees the light, the future, a pathway back to the promised land. is the one that shouts embarrassing abuse at players they don’t like and embarrassing songs about a manager that they don’t like.
  8. I haven’t given up hope with him. He isn’t a dribbler like Alves but he does have some pace and does find promising positions. His crossing and shooting today were just poor but he certainly wasn’t the only one who’d apparently swapped their Predator Pro football boots for a pair of crocs two sizes too big. He’d definitely benefit as would Alves from having a more competent attacking left back behind him than Thomas.
  9. Gets in great positions but then can’t deliver a cross or shoot.
  10. He’s a leader, frees up Page and has a reputation for being a shithouse, we really could do with a back up as it’s inevitable he’ll get injured. Can’t think of anyone else in the squad who can really do that role. The back up would’ve been Choudhury or Skippy and whilst both are very flawed and neither would’ve been ideal, they still would’ve allowed Page to be further forward. If Lundy is injured he might have to deploy a ball playing centre back there. Faes? 😬👀
  11. A back up keeper, demonstrating once more why he’s a back up keeper. Dives In instalments and nearly cost the game today. A terrible signing by Martin and that one decision above anything else could be ultimately the reason he loses his job. A keeper that can’t use his feet and is prone to mistakes like the free kick today as well as an inability to get to down low shots. He is a massive problem and needs to be benched. Bring in an emergency keeper - 4th choice at Saints Ramsdale, despite his many flaws is miles ahead of this clown.
  12. We’ve got Vertu Cup and FA Trophy games coming soon..😬
  13. I don’t think Rowett is suited to anything other than chatting shit and waffle on a Sky EFL show.
  14. I get that Martin is having a nightmare but let’s not look back at Rowett with rose tinted glasses, his time at Leicester was absolutely dire and the one good thing is if/when Martin is sacked, Rowett won’t be reappointed.
  15. Your figure includes development team players either released or loaned out. Oxford’s approach to their transfer embargo has been to retain a good proportion of their first team squad, as confirmed on the ‘When You’re Smiling’ pre Oxford podcast by the Oxford Utd BBC correspondent. They released or sold 7 first team squad members between the end of last season and the end this transfer window and returned 3 loans which were replaced by 3 this season. They’ve kept a good core of experienced Championship players.
  16. Joseph best of the back 4
  17. Zero physicality, zero pace. Can’t hit a donkey’s arse with a banjo. Clever layoffs around the corner is his one very niche positive attribute but he can’t move into any position quickly enough after that layoff to look for a return pass.
  18. He had a real off day today. Looked off it even in the pre match warm up and during the game he spent most of the time playing wall passes backwards as if he was possessed by the ghost of Oliver Skipp.
  19. Captain Souttar was even worse tbh
  20. Mate if you don’t like seeing crap nicknames for footballers you are gonna hate me. last night it was A-Mac replacing Stoly C-Mac Soutts Lukey-T JJ Pagey Braybro The Ghost of Bobby Reid H Bristo Alves (surname sounds like a nickname)
  21. Tbf Winks is purely a pivot, Braybrooke is playing as a more attacking 8. Page took the Pivot role and was far more dynamic than Winksy was last season.
  22. ‘Skipp to Charlton.’ Three beautiful words. What a day to be alive. 🙏
  23. I referenced LCFC. Most recent example in EFL was November 22nd last year. Tranmere 2 MK Dons 2
  24. Vardy had still played significantly more competitive men’s football than any of our current lot.
  25. We played the vast majority of the game in MK Dons half. It was almost attack v defence.
