Presumably any new loan for Thomas this season would mean Sheff United would no longer need to cover part of his wage.
-
I thought the game passed him by a bit if I’m being honest. The number 8 is such a key role in this system and particularly when the wingers are being occupied, they have to step up and it just didn’t happen for him today.
-
It’s not that Top hasn’t got the money, the new FFP rules mean we can’t just buy players. A 3 year set of accounts that will 2 years of losses combined with a 3rd year relegation means things are tight.

Appalling refereeing performance. Massively Inconsistent, influenced by the crowd, badly positioned (at times blocking plays) and blind to O’Hare’s diving. -
The confusing thing about O’Hare is he could be a Premier League level player but he’s rocking a non-league o’hair cut.
-
Shinji is a Leicester legend. To be honest though, I thought Yuki Abe was very underwhelming for us.
-
McAteer has only been out because of injury tbf. He would’ve been heavily part of the rotation and I guess he will be if he can ever stay fit.

Allison has been outstanding in the two games he’s been in charge of at the KP. He quietly goes about his business and is decisive but treats players with respect. It was noticeable players didn’t complain about decisions, perhaps because they know he was a decent footballer himself and knows all the tricks that are played and probably because of how he communicates with them. It also has to be said that we don’t really have a shithouse in our team and nor did Huddersfield. The real test will be when he has to referee a Notts Forest game and comes up against a true master of shithousery in Yates. None of the refs I’ve seen can’t cope with his persistent conning, play acting and blatant cheating, -
I thought he played well. He was very busy, particularly when spaces started to open up as Huddersfield were forced to attack in the 2nd half. He’s got quick feet and is clearly an intelligent footballer. As he plays more and gets used to the physicality and the speed of English football I think he’ll be a real asset.
-
Didn’t you watch his movement off the ball? He scored two very well taken goals but he also did a lot of work off the ball. He was continually running his centre half ragged, dragging players out of position and causing a problem as well as starting runs that on another day might’ve been spotted by our playmakers. He also was linking play well particularly in the second half when Huddersfield stopped parking the bus.

Ratings very harsh IMO. I had them all 7’s,8’s and a 9 for Cannon. We won 4-1 and it could’ve easily been 7-2 such were the quality of chances. -
I thought Casadei played well today, I’m surprised he’s currently got such a low score on the player ratings. He started off a bit slowly but by the second half he was bombing forward, playing positively and linked up well with Fatawu/Albrighton and Akgun.

I agree, he also gave Winksy 5/10 -
Had one of his quieter games tonight but had two excellent efforts miss by millimetres. Hit the post and pushed one just wide of the post. The latter one perhaps he should’ve squared it to Butch but you can’t blame him for having a go. His nutmeg against NG was different gravy. We’ve not seen tricks like his and Fatawu’s since Mahrez really - Lookman showed flashes but not as much (but he was always played out of position tbf)
-
His first touch goes further than many can pass a ball.
-
Didn’t know that. His body was unable to cope with a 20 minute run around against Rotherham? Omfg that lad is made of balsa wood.
-
Presumably Praet is off? He looked good in those 20 minutes against Rotherham, after being out with that stress fracture. Enzo had already stated that he was the one player in his midfield that can perform all aspects of the number 8 role he wants and now he’s not the bench 2 games running. Thought he was the best option we had for cover for Ndidi during AFCON. 🤷🏻♂️

Yeh true, Johnson’s was sadly as much about mental health issues as injuries I think. Such a shame as he was initially outstanding for Man City.
-
Nick Powell and Michael Johnson both had contracts terminated before their loan deals were due to end, not based on injury. I don’t expect Butch to get the same treatment unless Chelsea aren’t happy with his game time.
-
He looked lazy tonight. Off the pace and made me wish Daka was still on the pitch despite him being bang average before he went off.

Dreadful referee. If we were Notts Forest we’d be writing a complaint letter to PGMOL.- absolute nailed on penalty, clear red card before that. I appreciate that we had to rotate but the fact is we lost control because our replacements weakened us. Iheanacho was lazy and made Daka’s average showing suddenly look much better. Akgun should’ve replaced Fatawu not KDH. Coady should’ve been hooked and Justin swapped in, moving Faes into Coady’s spot and Justin to cover the pace of Hutchinson.
