  1. No better than Stolarcyck. Sticks to his line. Can’t kick. If Stolarcyck had palmed that shot out for their second he would’ve been panned on here.
  2. There wasn’t anyone cheering anything on at the end of this game. The atmosphere was as toxic as it’s ever been down there and rightly so.
  3. He’s not the messiah, he’s just miles better than Okoli. That’s not saying much tbh but it’s something. A reason for the smallest, tiniest bit of hope.
  4. Patson missed two almost sitters that would’ve taken the game away from them.
  5. Classless blue on blue thread where non attending fans are actually abusing/mocking/blaming attending fans and mods aren’t locking it. Wow.
  6. I thought Mavididi was one of our better players in the first half yesterday.
  7. Yeh I agree he plays on Tuesday. I want him to prove me wrong. I always remember years back when Simon Grayson went from a figure of derision to be a stalwart for us and I hope Skipp can do that. At the moment I just don’t see enough of a contribution that affects games positively. There’s plenty in the team that could have that criticism thrown their way tbf. I just think central midfield is one of the worst places to have a player who can be anonymous.
  8. A true test will come against a team that uses long throws, corners and set pieces more than a lightweight Burnley do.
  9. I’d go Mukasa with Richards up front. Whisper can play centre forward or wing. He can’t be any less of a threat than Daka and Ayew.
  10. Having sat through a terrible game in the pouring rain yesterday when we were outplayed for 90 minutes and mocked by brum fans I can honestly say I’m dreading it.
  11. I thought he looked as shaky as Jakob tbh.
  12. King has said Winks’ attitude has been good since he’s been in charge. That’s not a lie, a narrative that I’ve made up, that’s coming from a honest guy and a Leicester legend in Andy King. You can get a player who is leaving at the end of a season to perform. You can manage difficult personalities even if others have failed. I didn’t see a pathetic performance from Winks yesterday. I saw a team being outplayed before and after we went down to 10 men and that wasn’t down to 1 man who only played when we were a man down in a lob sided formation. I should point out that I’m more than happy for Winks to go at the end of the season. I would’ve liked him to go in January and we’d replaced him with a cheaper, lower maintenance creative pivot or 6. The thing is that didn’t happen. I just think playing our better players in their best positions is what we should strive to do and that includes having a 6 or a pivot that can retain possession, play in tight areas and have ability on the ball.
  13. I agree that he had showed some signs of improvement in early December but that has disappeared and we are seeing the Skipp of old again. I know that he cares, I know that he tries his best, he also comes across as a nice guy off the pitch but I just don’t see his influence on the pitch. He doesn’t do enough to be called the water carrier - that role influences games, with Skipp that term is almost an excuse to hide his anonymity.
  14. We are looking league 1 at both LB and RB
  15. Skipp has played more games and more minutes within those games than Winks.
  16. My issue with Skipp is he doesn’t really offer anything and I don’t see how you can call Winks yesterday ‘absolutely pathetic’ without applying that same classification to Skipp’s performance. It was Skipp after all that visibly bottled a headed challenge yesterday. Anyone of us watching can run around like a blue arsed fly on a football pitch giving 100% but at this level you need more than that. Skipp gets judged on here with far lower expectations than pretty much every other player in our squad. If he’s running around it seems all is good, even though he doesn’t really influence the game defensively or offensively with that running around.
  17. What about Wrexham, Coventry, QPR and Watford when Skipp started and the team kept 11 players on the pitch? The point is, the midfield is still ‘ran through’ with Skipp playing and not Winks.
  18. Don’t know where you got your definition of man management from. Tbh it reads as if you’ve defined it to suit the narrative that you don’t want Winks to play. I just look at Winks and think that yes he’s definitely not going to be here next season and I’ve not been impressed by his behaviour, but whilst he’s here and with the undoubted ability he has, King might have a chance as to motivate him to perform positively for the team as Enzo did. I’ve been positive about Aribo’s performance from a creative perspective btw. Didn’t see any significant breaking of the lines by Skipp. I get that Skipp runs around, I just don’t see the defensive skills that make up for his lack of creative ability on the ball.
  19. Have you ever watched him play? His game is literally taking the ball under pressure and turning and playing forwards.
  20. Stolarcyck Aluko Lascelles Nelson VK Winks Skipp Mukasa Fatawu Richards Mavididi
  21. Beggo looked as shaky today. Didn’t come for the disallowed goal when it was his ball and whilst he made a couple of decent saves, he didn’t inspire much confidence and his kicking is even worse than Jakob’s.
  22. Shit yeh forgot ffs
  23. Stolarcyck Aluko Lascelles Nelson VK Aribo Winks Mukasa Fatawu Richards Mavididi
  24. I don’t think I can possibly be ‘way wide of the mark’ for suggesting, under good management, that one of our better, more creative footballers (amongst a very poor selection of midfielders) who is not at the age yet when his abilities will be on the dip, and who has had more victories in a LCFC shirt than any other midfielders in this team, can’t help get the team out of the mess that he’s undoubtedly help create. It’s called man management.
  25. Finally seen the action replay of the red having thought it harsh seeing it live. It would definitely be worth appealing it. It doesn’t hit the usual criteria for a red. Studs were up but the tackle was low and there wasn’t much force. This would not have been a red in the prem, particularly because of the height. The players’ reaction got the red from a poor ref.
