He’s miles better than Hamza. Absolutey streets ahead of him in terms of ability on the ball and actually playing forwards.
-
Can’t pass, not great at heading, lacks pace, overrated as a defender, poor decision making. Okoli has been another terrible buy. Much preferred seeing Aluko in that role, despite his lack of experience and physicality. He’s so much better at playing football that he’s well ahead of Okoli for me.
-
I just don’t see the hope people are putting on Okoli. Tries hard but his distribution is as bad as I’ve seen from a defender in a city shirt certainly since KP took over the club and his defending isn’t all that great. He gets beaten in the air and on the floor regularly.

What sort or reception will Winks get, if selected tomorrow?
funkyrobot replied to MGLCFC's topic in Leicester City Forum
Definitely support Winks if Kingy picks him. I want our legendary interim manager to do well and Winks in midfield rather than Hamza will definitely make it more likely. It will be interesting to watch him tbf. The last time we played Charlton, Winksy came off the bench and definitely pulled out of a tackle. We were still within the summer transfer window and at the time I thought he was protecting himself with a move in mind. If he plays tomorrow I hope he’s all in. If he starts pulling out of tackles then it won’t go unseen in a home match and he’ll get a bad reaction from the crowd. -
There’s no way he can go with Hamza in midfield again. It’s too much to ask 17 year old Page to carry him through another game. It’s either Ricardo or Wantaway Winks or we are well and truly fcuked.

Soumare sold to Al-Duhail SC - Official

Will never forget Bouba for that rampant run down the wing to assist the assist for Ayew’s last minute equaliser away at Ipswich. For that brief moment (3-4 seconds) he was world class. Like that time Praet assisted the assist with that pass against Brentford in the FA Cup. ‘Brief moment Leicester legends™️’ both of them 🥰 -
Luke Thomas is league 2 level. He’s our only fit left back. The other left back Kristiansen is out with a bad knee injury but is similarly out of his depth at this level. Bobby Reid is our only fit number 10. He’s a good finisher but for a number 10 he’s barely involved in games, runs out of steam at 60 minutes and gets knocked off the ball by a gentle gust of wind. Ayew and Daka up front shouldn’t need any explanation. In midfield we have 17 old Louis Page as our only potential bit of creativity but he’s 17 and is really a number 6. The only other midfielder is Skipp - he works hard but he’s a meat n potatoes midfielder. Hamza is not a midfielder at this level. With such a weak midfield and the lack of a target man, our wingers are isolated and easy to double up against as there’s no threat from elsewhere.
-
We know he’s got zero pace so you just know we’ll start with Ayew up against him. Ayew is the only striker in the league that matches Coady’s inability to run.
-
By far our best player James out for weeks. Worst left back in the league, worst strike force in the league. Goalie confidence shot to bits - now a liability at set pieces. Only option at number 10 is in games for very brief moments and anonymous for most of the game. Our central midfield has no creativity. We are reliant on a 17 year old for our set pieces.

Leicester 0 Charlton 2 (Dykes 2 mins. Coady 90+2 mins.)

Don’t know what’s happened to Cover. I thought he looked good when he played for us. Now he doesn’t play for any team and his only 1st team appearance was the Christmas messages to fans video in December 🥴

Being ‘well off the pace’ has been absolutely no barrier to playing for Ayew tbf.

Realistic Managerial Replacements

I thought it was worth using your paragraph as you put positive spin on him for your narrative as I put negative spin on him for my narrative. The fact that I have to justify on here why recruiting Gary Rowett is not a positive step for this club shows how far we have fallen and how accepting as a fanbase we’ve become of Top and Rudkin’s failure. We should be asking for more from our owners, not encouraging them to further degrade the quality at the club. -

Yeh, but keeping them in the division was his task. He failed and obviously wasn’t offered the full time job! -

Sacked by Birmingham, Stoke and Oxford. Had his contract mutually terminated at Millwall when they were struggling. Contract at Birmingham during second spell there wasn’t renewed after he oversaw their relegation to League 1. I get you want him but not sure why you’re ignoring facts/making your own up to spin a narrative straight out of Top’s playbook. -

Don’t know any recent manager we’ve recruited who’s had that many sackings at lower league clubs before joining us tbh. -

Neither ideal options, both sacked regularly. It’s not bizarre though as both play totally different styles of football with Rowett renowned for pragmatism that isn’t particularly successful. If I was forced to choose between the two I’d definitely go for Mowbray. More experience, plays much better football (his Sunderland were excellent against us despite unluckily losing at the KP when we had Enzo) and he’s not just been sacked by Oxford United!! -

I’d appoint John ‘Bring Yer Dinner’ Sillet based on this classic changing room rant at Orient -

So what’s happened this season then? Bottom but one and sacked. And the new manager has completely turned them around. Oxford rejects should be rebuilding their careers at league 2. What happened to Rowett at Stoke, at Birmingham at Millwall? Sacked and doesn’t even play good football whilst he’s failing. -

Both have poor records and should be avoided -

Rowett at Number 3. Just sacked by 2nd from bottom Oxford United who’ve seen a massive improvement in performance since he left and yet he’s your 3rd choice? -

I thought he was excellent with England. Played great football and lost once. -

I have, not sure you have as his name is mentioned. There’s been chat about bring Rowett in on here, hence my comment. If you go on Twitter there’s even more too. Rowett would be a terrible appointment. -

I can’t believe people are thinking Rowett- sacked by OXFORD Rowett - is actually a good idea. Wow. -
JJ did well but by far the best ex LCFC player in that game was KDH. We miss his energy and his ability so much. 😢
