Mendy is levels above Skipp. Nampalys was quality ‘water carrier.’ He sought the ball, had excellent close control. constantly moved into space and could take the ball on the half turn. Don’t see any of those attributes in Skipp.
-
Spurs fans I know were very happy we paid £25m for him. Very happy!
-
That’s the laws of the game. The position of the arm is irrelevant when it’s the goal scorer. Any contact with the arm if the goalscorer in the act of scoring is handball 100% of the time
-
He could certainly do better with his shot count and accuracy but he’s high statistically with key passes which would be assists if any of our shots at goal actually hit the target rather than sailing high and or wide most of the time!
-
Not seen anything that backs that statement up, certainly in a Leicester shirt. He hasn’t demonstrated any decent standout attributes at this level for us. I suspect he’s a lower league player that was lucky to hold on to a Spurs contract for as long as he did. Probably because he takes no risk with the ball and in a better team, when he did get game time he had much better players around him to flatter or mask his true ability level.

Worst take on this whole thread. El Khanouss is quite clearly premier league level.

-
Not just that, he’s not got an alternative left winger to rotate with, to sometimes be replaced by and vice versa.
-
Strange day to post this hate, he was our best player today.
-
Drop our best striker? Seems a lot of mucking around to fit in a player who isn’t good enough in Skipp just to have an extra body in deeper midfield when Bilal can do that job?
-
Why play Skipp in a 3 though having all of us seen his lack of ability at this level? Particularly as this will necessitate the loss of the number 10 role and as a result Bilal’s position in the first 11. It would make much more sense just to play Bilal deeper and leave Skipp on the bench. Bilal can press, he can tackle, he can take the ball on the half turn, he can pass progressively and played deeper at times in Belgium.

Surprised by the low score for Faes. Of the players who stayed on for the full game, I thought he was our best player and played well. -
Surely a good midfielder can operate in a 3 or a 2 though? A midfielder who can only play in a 3 would suggest he has deficiencies that are exposed when he’s not got that extra support. That describes Skipp for me. He’s not quick, he’s not physical, he’s not got a great 1st touch, he isn’t renowned for ranged passing, he doesn’t score many goals and he can’t play on the half turn. I’d say £5m is too expensive for such a flawed player, never mind the fact Skipp actually cost us £25m. Bad transfer value for a bad player in my opinion. I’d rather sign a midfielder that is good enough to play in a 2 and play him in a 3 if the formation requires it.

No back at you! Okoli has played the vast majority of his games on the left hand side of our defence, playing instead of Verstergaard.
-
Plays on the other side to Coady tho eh? Vestergaard and Faes are the two more trusted to play on the left ahead of him and both are better with the ball (same with regards to Faes over Coady on the right.) Okoli’s one true advantage over Vesty is obviously pace, neither are as good in the air as they should be. Clearly at the moment, RVN values the ball playing over defensive pace. They are all flawed players at this level tbh hence our position in the league. Maybe it is time to deploy a 3-5-2 to acknowledge this weakness. I guess Okoli’s non selection might suggest he’s a January transfer out option as suggested, it’ll be interesting to see if he’s back in the squad today
-
Tbf he hasn’t looked that good, his passing in particular is way off.

Rudkin will sign Edouard on a permanent deal.

Don’t think Maddison had his shirt on but it was an away match and he’d had an excellent game. Ayew had been useless and his team had lost an absolutely key game. He could’ve clapped the fans but the patting of the heart (Leicester badge) at our ground whilst saluting them wasn’t the wisest based on his performance and the result of the match.

We weren’t in the bottom 3 purely because we had a relatively gentle first 10 games and we had Hermansen saving us time and time again. Wolves had a far more difficult run than us and were below us for this reason. Statistically during Cooper’s period we are where we are now, the 2nd worst team in the league with a terrible XG and awful defensive stats. Irrespective of the fate of RVN, Cooper certainly wasn’t the answer and we are paying the price for his shocking pre season. This includes players signed, players selected for games and the tactics deployed from day one. RVN has been left with a squad very short in key areas because Cooper wanted premier league experience over ability and potential. BDCR, Skipp, Ayew, Edouard all have premier league experience but none of them have been very good. Ayew has been the best of them and the fact that most of us would prefer he was benched tells us how he has done in general play. Our squad is imbalanced and substandard and this is down to Cooper in part but ultimately down to the person who actually thought he’d be a success and allowed the squad to be built in his image. That person is Jon Rudkin and he should’ve walked the same day he sacked Cooper. -
No I’d say 14 points from 15 games isn’t a great stat but it’s certainly better than most at the club. Still doesn’t change whether Winksy is a good player. Both are good players, one is however often injured so we are stuck with ball players like Winks and Soumare when it would be useful to have a tough tackler to start or to bring on in Ndidi.
-
For me he’s one of our better players, created a great opportunity for Vardy and could’ve scored a header at the end. Creates chances and can score. The issue is the lack of a rotation with him - he’s a winger and by the very nature of the position it’s hit and miss. Not many wingers are outstanding every game, their position is to put the ball at risk, the very opposite of a midfield role that someone like Oliver Skipp has. Mavididi can’t be taken out of the team or brought on as an impact sub as we have nothing else. It goes back to the terrible summer window which leaves us with a bench of players like BDCR.
-
He’s not as good as Den. Could Skippy do that assist to the assist that Praet did that one time against Brentford in the cup? No chance. 😂 tbf I’m being serious, Praet was a much better footballer, despite sharing some of Skipp’s ‘peripheral’ style - unfortunately we all know the Dennis was made out of balsa wood.

I was thinking more Motorcycle Emptiness by The Manics surely?

We’ve created very little all season.
