Same old story, absolutely dominated the game but not taking enough shots, trying to walk the ball through a crowded defence. Opponents score with first shot for the umpteenth time when one of our defenders doesn’t feel it necessary for the umpteenth time to close down his man. Corners are outrageously poor.

There are moments when Enzoball has been sublime. They are when our confidence is up and we play the game with pace and movement. The problem has been a reluctance to try any plan B in terms of tactics and players as teams have got wise to us and strengthened their teams in January. Enzo’s style needs a squad of outstanding footballers whereas we have a select few great players and a majority who are being asked to do something that realistically they aren’t quite able to do. None of our strikers have the skillset to both be a lone striker AND play some complex football deeper and under pressure, one of our number 8’s is actually a CDM destroyer, our left back is either a centre back or a right back who hates his left foot, our inverted right fullback is either a wingback or a back up DM. Our 1st choice wingers are with us because they haven’t shown the consistency needed at the highest level to back up their technique. We’ve become increasingly reliant on an hot headed impetuous central defender. Our bench is full of players even less suitable for Enzoball. I guess Enzo was expecting a January window to correct many of these compromises but that soon became only 1 player and then that disastrously went to -1 players when PSR stopped the Sensi deal and Chelsea shithoused the Butch Casadei loan. It’s been a painful decline since this disappointment. Enzo’s game needs a squad of outstanding specifically skilled talent like at Man City and because of past transfer mistakes and a clampdown on PSR Enzo hasn’t been able to build this.

He’s deluded if he thinks his Leicester spell is going to earn him a move. He might as well stay in his property until his contract runs out in 2026 👀🥺, then downsize when his wages fall off a cliff.

Iheanacho’s was on target at least. KDH’s disgusted reaction to Daka’s 50p header tells you exactly what he was thinking. It must be so frustrating playing at that level alongside a striker like Daka. Very rarely, he can actually finish well but the vast majority of the time he plays, he looks like a celebrity in one of those charity matches playing alongside professional footballers.

Wanya Marcal signs new contract until 2026

He showed promise against Bournemouth including dribbling past his fullback a few times. It would allow Mavididi to be rested during a game like last night when he was having an absolute nightmare. -
He isn’t, his positional sense isn’t great. He doesn’t get many chances and those he does invariably go off at acute angles due to his 50p head and feet.
-
Mavididi was poor but it didn’t help that his usual partner on the left KDH was replaced by the far less creative Ndid who also looked absolutely knackered for most of the game.
-
Err ok. He’s decent, but in the same sense that ‘Kermo was decent.’ (apologies for ancient foxestalk banter)

It’s ok to counter attack in the prem against teams who are better footballers and who will dominate possession. Dropping down the league with our squad, It would be quite difficult for us to not dominate possession in The Championship because we are a big club in this league and so the majority of teams sit deep and want us to have the ball. You can only counter attack if the other team is coming forward. Our problem is what we do in possession. We are too slow, too predictable, not incisive enough, don’t take enough shots at goal and miss absolute sitters. On top of that we take unbelievable risks defensively and don’t close down quick enough around the edge of our box!

Fox 85 agrees with you that in the worst kind of fan😢. Are you two related? 😂 I’m the worst kind of fan for not calling for the sacking of a manager (irrespective of what I think of him) when we are top of the league with 5 games to go. The worst kind of fan for not wanting Cooper, sacked by Notts Forest, to take over the reigns with 5 games to go. Wow 😂😂 Btw, regarding last season, I was saying we were likely to get relegated from the minute that Rodgers informed us that Danny Ward was his number one. So you got that bet wrong too.
-
That’s exactly what we do.
-
I’m not happy clapping, I’m just taking the mickey out of you for actually calling for the manager to be sacked when we are top of the league with 5 matches left. Tbf if your plea is listened to by the club, maybe Super Cooper could get ‘Shorts’ Cattermole to be his Assistant Manager 🥰
-
Last season was way way worse.
-
The only way the club will cheer you up and bring you back into the fold is to finally sign Lee Cattermole

Ndidi on the left and KDH on the right is just shit isn’t it?
-
Awful game, crap windy conditions, terrible ref, amateurish sky coverage, bad camerawork, bad sound, poor commentary. Don’t know why KDH and Ndidi have switched sides. Ndidi is playing like last season. We look lethargic and short of ideas going forward and vulnerable on the break. We are making Obafemi look way better than he is. Need to do much better
-
Yeh agree and Wilf looks off the pace.
-
Poor ref this lad. Hates any contact. Incredibly harsh booking on Winks. Doesn’t allow the game to flow at all.
-
Not sure about ‘unconscious bias.’ For his fee and for his wage, Daka simply hasn’t scored anywhere enough goals at the top level in this country (and now in the division below) for an out and out striker who isn’t involved much in general play. The same can be said for his assist record.
-
I picked the outlier as he was a more recent signing than the others except for Borca who had a release clause, highlighting a shift in their spend patterns. There are also hidden add-on fees due for Enciso and Buananotte will eventually cost double his £5.3m fee. I’m not disputing Brighton’s clever use of ‘moneyball’, I’m just suggesting that there’ll be a squeeze at both ends of the market they are moving in and pointing out that they have won nothing other than accountancy plaudits.
-
Brighton are the most hyped team I think I’ve ever seen. The visuals aren’t matching the talk at least based on what we are all seeing at the moment. They’ve declined as a force this season. Their squad isn’t as good as last year. £25m for Baleba is a massive fee for an untested 20 year old btw, already shows their recruitment model is shifting.
-
I’m not disputing the quality of Brighton’s youngsters but we aren’t going to see another Caicedo etc. The bigger clubs are reducing what they spend. The bank of Chelsea has closed, players are increasingly working down contracts. Enciso has only got 2 years left on his contract so that’s going to limit his fee, never mind his injuries and the fact his Brighton stats don’t match your hype.
-
All premier league players are worth millions. None of who you’ve listed are worth anywhere near the price that was paid for Cucurella or Caicedo. That’s a fact. Brighton’s model has been sustained by buying cheap and selling very high. They’ll increasingly find it difficult to buy cheap (as everyone knows what they are up to now) and the market for selling players below the very top level for astronomical fees has disappeared. Cucurella went for £65m. That won’t happen again.
-
Another clickbaity tweet from Maguire. Comparing two clubs with massively differing footballing achievements over that period. Brighton have clearly won the accountants cup but what else have they actually won? They’re also dining out on sales that won’t happen again - £65m for Cucurella and £100m for Caicedo aren’t going to happen in the future. The bank of Chelsea is shut and the players aren’t at Brighton that will command that kind of fee. Their best player Fati is an expensive Barcelona loanee.
