Or one of the other giants of the Premier league like Brentford and Fulham. Fed up of these massive clubs sniffing round our players. -
FA Cup 5th Round Draw - Bournemouth Away.
funkyrobot replied to whoareyaaa's topic in Leicester City Forum
What a rubbish draw. Bournemouth away ffs. Glen Johnson hang your head in shame - that was very poor ball picking mate. 😂 -
The fact KDH has performed well in the Premier League kind of ruins your theory a bit tbf.

Felt this lad deserved his own thread as he had a great debut. Already a full Jamaican international, he looked good on the ball and the ‘assist’ that Vardy sadly fluffed was a thing of beauty.

I thought Akgun was excellent today, really deserved his goal. He's got fabulous technique and he’s starting to get his head round the speed that the game is played here. I’d keep him in the team against Swansea.

Development/Youth Squads 2023/2024 Thread - U18/U21

Thought Raikhy and Cover made excellent debuts for us. That assist from Cover that Vardy fluffed needs to go straight on his you tube skills video (assuming he’s got one.) By the way you pronounce his surname Cover, rather than Cover. and while we are at it, it’s pronounced scone NOT scone. -
That’s simply not true. As I’ve already pointed out - Hes better than Skipp at Spurs who gets regular game time. Better than Longstaff at Newcastle, better than Vieira at Arsenal, better than McTominay at Man U arguably better than Jones at Liverpool.KDH is a confident individual who would back himself at these clubs. It might end up a Drinkwater situation but to say he’s nowhere near the big teams is wrong. If Leicester get promoted we’d expect to be back competing with the likes of Brentford, Fulham, Wolves and even Brighton.
-
Yeh I could see any of those three or even Spurs or Man Utd being interested. Is he better than SOME of the players getting a good amount of game time at these clubs? I’d say yes. Look at Skipp at Spurs, Jones at Liverpool, Longstaff at Newcastle, McTominay at Man U, Vieira at Arse. He’s a more influential footballer than all of these and they all get game time at their clubs. I’d say KDH has the confidence to think he could break into all of these team’s starting 11. Whether he actually could is a different matter.
-
I’m not denying KDH would give them a boost but he should be aiming for a bigger club than Brighton if he leaves us. They aren’t really going to finish higher than 7th this season even if he signed for them.
-
Agreed relegation has set us back but finishing 7th is not upwards trajectory for Brighton. They finished 6th the previous season and they haven’t been as good this season. They’ve got Man U, Chelsea and Newcastle just below them. They’ve won as many games (8) as 11th place Wolves. Moving to a club currently punching above their weight, that buys cheap, pays lower wages and sells high and that hasn’t won anything despite being current media darlings is not an amazing move for a player of KDH’s calibre.
-
Aiming for mid table as a promoted team is not an unreasonable expectation or goal even if obviously the first aim is of course to avoid relegation. We were only six points off a ‘mid table’ position last season. We finished on 34 points, Wolves in 13th finished on 41, Chelsea in 12th on 44. Aiming for around mid table is not unrealistic. Are you seriously telling me that the squads of teams like Bournemouth, Brentford, Palace, Notts Forest and Everton are that much better than us? You give Brighton a lot of praise for one good season btw. Clearly you admire them and they do play nice football but come on, KDH moving to them would show a lack of ambition on his behalf.
-
Brighton will be mid table next season & probably not in Europe. We’ll also be aiming for mid table safety should we win promotion. The model of buy cheap, pay low wages and sell them for lots of profit is a cyclical one that Brighton can’t sustain forever as Leicester couldn’t. Brighton potentially splurging £30m on KDH is already a clear departure from the buy cheap model that has given them some success (without actually winning anything.) I also struggle to see how a low wage playing club is likely to retain the services of a manager like De Zerbi for too long (If he’s world class as you suggest) - he’ll be head hunted within 12 months.

The ‘best in the business’ reported this time last year that Liverpool were in the best position to buy Mason Mount from Chelsea.
-
He’s mad if he goes to Brighton. Not as big a club as Leicester. I get that they are premier league but they are starting to dip, we’ll be competing with them again next season.

I think the fact that even Enzo was surprised suggests that Chelsea at the very least gave the very minimum of notice even if the cut off date was before the end of Jan. Casadei and the club were informed by Chelsea after the Friday training that he was being recalled the following day. That is pretty poor form IMO. Not surprised though, Chelsea lacked class with the Fofana deal and tapped up and unsettled Chilwell very early too, to the point he was telling everyone he was off to Chelsea half way through his last season with us.

Yeh good point scrum half was the original Youngs!

You do realise there’s no O in Dusty’s surname?

Two reasons why Hamza was in the 11. AFCON and Chelsea loan shithousery.
-
Give him the full 90 mins in the FA Cup in the number 8 role, he shows flashes of quality but I worry about his physicality and size. What he needs is good enough game time to get into the rhythm of the team.
-
Yeh he can’t play for them until 4th Feb!
-
Poch didn’t mention the minutes tbf, just Percy. Poch was quoted as saying he was happy with Casadei and his performances were the factor in deciding he deserved a chance.
-
This is bang on.
-
There was no reason why they couldn’t have waited until after the Ipswich game considering the lack of notice given to Leicester and considering Chelsea didn’t have a game Casadei could play in until February 4th. It’s a lack of respect shown to a team that was giving their inexperienced player significant game time. I’d steer clear of doing any loan business with Chelsea in the future.
-
Yeh undoubtedly we contributed significantly to our own problems but I thought Burns, Luongo, Harness and Jackson created a lot of challenges for our back line last night that occupied them and prevented us from being as effective at breaking the press. We are tactically a difficult team to play against, but Ipswich were instigating individual runs and dummy runs off the ball at all times that were clearly pre-planned, well drilled and created chaos at times. This was emphasised later when they were replaced with fresh legs and the ineffective Chaplin was hooked for additional pace. They were playing a team with better players but those 4 and their replacements were absolutely key to them staying in the game and wearing us out physically and mentally. I thought they were tactically one of the strongest teams we’ve seen at The KP. Thru knew they couldn’t go toe to toe but had a game plan that ended up being very effective.

I think most people that rant about the atmosphere have already made their mind up that the atmosphere is bad before they even go to the game! I thought last night the atmosphere was pretty good, particularly considering in that 2nd half the team weren’t playing at their best and were under the cosh against a very well instructed team. The best atmospheres are created by the football on the pitch. Even then the main singing has always come from specific areas and not the full stadia. Those of us old enough to remember Filbert Street know most of the noise came from the Kop (and at times the atmosphere was far far worse than it is now - Pleat era for example.) To improve the atmosphere, I think all of the fans who want to sing throughout the game (and presumably are moaning on here) need to relocate to as close to the the UFS area as they can.The increase in number will increase the volume and those of us who join in a bit sat elsewhere will join in even more. A bigger number around the UFS area will perhaps encourage the club to find a suitable location to have a safe standing area in the future.
