It’s not looking good for me, is it 🥴 I could have easily missed the opening day game and the game this Saturday due to work, but I bought a Foxeshub pass so I cpuld listen 🤦🏻‍♂️

I’ve followed Leicester for 45 years and have never been able to bring myself to not follow a game, no matter how bad things have got and yes, this is the worst I can ever remember it being. I’m not knocking the people on this thread who have been able to switch off and do other things. I genuinely wish I could do that too as there’s no doubt that Leicester affect my moods and not just during and immediately after the game. The malaise hangs over me until the next match, by then I’ve conned myself into thinking that this will be the start of the turnaround 🙄

Yep I’ll be going and looking to persuade a few others to come too. Might get double figures in the away end 😆

It will be the usual routine tomorrow. Get excited for the match during the morning, convince yourself that this is gonna be the start of a turn of fortunes, envisage a comfortable, morale inducing 3 or 4 nil victory. Then at 1.45pm, you see the lineup, Bobby Reid up front, Cullen has ousted Alves from the side, Thomas starts again…and all that hope is sucked out of you and you have to mentally prepare for yet another shambolic disappointment 🥴

I was talking more in general terms, given how bad it’s been for three of the last four seasons. Fair play if you’re still able to enjoy the day, despite the result. I can have a great time prematch, few beers etc but still go home miserable/angry if the result isn’t right, particularly if it’s down to lack of effort and desire. I should probably find something else to do with my time that doesn’t affect my moods so much, but sadly and despite how bad it gets, I keep coming back for more 🥴

So if you go and watch us play horrendously and lose (again), do you still ‘enjoy your day out’? Because for me, and I suspect still a fair proportion of the fan base, it is all about the result (and performance), the rest of it is merely a sideshow.

Thing is, I can watch most matches (dodgy stick), so don’t want to be paying a monthly fee for something that I’ll very rarely use.

Yeah what a great guy. Where my lad was staying was about 45 minute walk from the ground, a couple of times Nige saw him walking back and gave him a lift. Actually, that now sounds like grooming 😅

A few years back, my lad moved up from Cornwall to Bristol aged 16, to do a coaching course at Ashton Gate, including playing football competitively too. As you can imagine, it was a bit daunting for him, especially as all the other lads in his group were from Bristol and knew each other. One morning he saw Nige in the car park and plucked up the courage to speak to him, telling him of course how he was a big Leicester fan and obviously a big fan of Nige too. My lad said that Nige was really friendly and spent quite a while chatting to him about his course and how he was getting on etc. After that, every time Nige saw him he would make the effort to speak to him and check on him, even organised for him to be a ballboy at a couple of the first team matches. Obviously my lad just loved the guy even more and I really respected him and appreciated his efforts. Still probably my favourite Leicester manager ever, still got a soft spot for MON though, of course.

Fair point, maybe not quite as bad as I first envisaged. I’m very hungover and I’d just stubbed my toe.

Then why not play the fringe players in the earlier fixture and go strong tonight? Players still getting the minutes. Seems a bizarre thing to do, to not try your strongest team in the final preseason game.

I’ve always bought a membership as, living in Cornwall and wanting to get to a few games a season, it been helpful to ensure getting a ticket for (home) games. I was considering not getting one this season as I think it should be easier to get tickets via general sale thus rendering the membership pointless. Just wondering though, if I didn’t purchase one this season, would my accumulated points still be safe and still on record when I next purchased a membership?

I really hope that isn’t the case. Clearly he wants to leave (and who can blame him), but I don’t want anyone playing for us who doesn’t want to be here, it’s counterproductive for both sides. I remember El Khannous being hauled off at half time early last season because he was just strolling around, going through the motions. We’ve had enough of this sort of thing in the last few years and it needs to stop, regardless of how good a player is.

My lad travelled up from Cornwall to watch Leicester v Ipswich this season. He left his seat a few minutes before half time to go and get a pint and missed Fatawu’s worldly 🥴
