  1. The only thing I can hang my hat on is the fact we probably won’t dominate possession in many Premier League games. Still, we pretty much have nobody who can make a killer pass to break open a defence, if he doesn’t give Alves at least 30 minutes in this game, then
  2. Unsurprisingly not included in Watford’s pre season friendly today.
  3. He unsurprisingly won Watford’s 23/24 Young Player of the Season. In the 22/23 season you could see the potential was there, but he looked quite raw. Last season he made a step up in class, was a joy to watch in quite a few games last season, creative flair mixed with solid dribbling ability, he also scored some absolute belters. I have to say though, Watford haven’t even scratched the surface with him, as I stated earlier, he has a few more gears he can get to, he has the ability to reach Joao Pedro type levels of talent. Saying all that he probably won’t sign now but I can’t help but get overly excited because I know what he’s capable of, this link is seriously exciting.
  4. He is a creative RW/CAM If reports are true, then we’ve clearly identified him as an alternative to Soule.
  5. Surely not...but it would be nice to get one over on Watford after that historic play-off game. Taking their most talented player would be lovely.
  6. Cameron Puertas was on the scoresheet for Union SG last night. With Sara and O’Riley starting to look increasingly unlikely, Cameron Puertas is the next ideal name I’d go for, he fits the exact profile of what we desperately need. Unless he is out of our price bracket too
  7. It’s a good comparison, just comparing him with Soule in terms of a couple of key creative stats... Soule Smart Passes per90 - 1.50 Key Passes per90 - 0.91 Asprilla Smart Passes per90 - 1.03 Key Passes per90 - 0.85 Of right midfielders in Serie A, Soule was 1st in the Smart Passes statistic. Of right midfielders in the Championship, Asprilla was 2nd in the Smart Passes statistic. My head says we won’t get him, but at least we’ve been linked to a couple of creative players, albeit they usually play off the right.
  8. Of right midfielders to play over 2,000 minutes in the Championship last season, Fatawu was 2nd for most accurate crosses, only bettered by... Yaser Asprilla
  9. The mother supports Watford so I’ve seen a lot of him since he joined them. Along with Ismael Kone who’s now gone to Marseille, Asprilla has been by far Watford’s best talent in recent seasons(Forgetting Joao Pedro), he has that creative flair that is exciting to watch. I also think Watford haven’t seen the absolute best of him, he’s got a few more gears in his locker imo. But will this happen, my head says no.
  10. We’d all rest slightly easier if we had any substantial links to creative midfielders and strikers. Maybe we are trying to tap too much into an unrealistic market, look at Soule for example, he clearly didn’t want any business with us. With the situation we find ourselves in, maybe other targets are thinking the exact same, maybe they have better projects awaiting in the pipeline. As Strider said, it’s reaching the point where surely we have to explore certain avenues. The loan market being option number one. Option number two, go down the same route as Ipswich and Southampton by plucking younger players from English clubs. Option number three, target the market outside of Europe’s top five leagues. If we don’t see a creative midfielder and striker in by the Spurs game, then I’ll be starting to panic.
  11. Well done Brussel https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/former-glamour-model-lucy-pinder-premier-league-boss-russell-martin-relationship-public-seaside-selfie/blt1c6d0a4aea31f471
  12. Will never forget that night against Sevilla, the best game and atmosphere I’ve witnessed at the KP. RIP Shakey 💙
  13. Good list and assessment mate. As others have said, maybe another deep-lying playmaker or CAM is the only thing to add to that. I just hope we get a recognised set piece taker amongst that lot, one of Alfie Doughty, Gabriel Sara, Cameron Puertas or Matt O’Riley would be perfect 🙏🏻
  14. With the link to Ayew infuriating many, as I only piss about on Wyscout all day, I’ve gone to sadistic lengths to find right midfield alternatives who come in similar proximity to him defensively... Jordan Ayew Defensive Duels per90 - 6.94 Successful Defensive Actions per90 - 6.62 Surely, SURELY, some of the following are possible for buy or loan... Dario Osorio(Midtjylland) Defensive Duels per90 - 6.53 Successful Defensive Actions per90 - 6.98 Facundo Buonanotte(Brighton) Defensive Duels per90 - 9.66 Successful Defensive Actions per90 - 8.60 Tatsuhiro Sakamoto(Coventry) Defensive Duels per90 - 7.14 Successful Defensive Actions per90 - 7.76 Jonathan Rowe(Norwich) Defensive Duels per90 - 5.76 Successful Defensive Actions per90 - 6.11 Daan Rots(Twente) Defensive Duels per90 - 6.97 Successful Defensive Actions per90 - 7.47 Daizen Maeda(Celtic) Defensive Duels per90 - 6.15 Successful Defensive Actions per90 - 6.00 Facundo Pellistri(Granada/Man Utd) Defensive Duels per90 - 7.37 Successful Defensive Actions per90 - 7.44 Assane Diao(Real Betis) Defensive Duels per90 - 6.28 Successful Defensive Actions per90 - 7.83
  15. Would happily take Rios or Keita with Soumare heading out the door. Their defensive stats were both excellent last season.
  16. https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2024/e20m-rated-ogc-nice-forward-evann-guessand-open-to-move-abroad/ Certain elements of Guessand’s game really impressed me last season. Physical, quick, direct and a very good ball carrier. Nice may look to keep him with Moffi injured, but if he very much wants out, we could do worse.
  17. Guess Henry only watched him against Arsenal last season.
  18. No mate, just for the Championship 👍🏻
  19. Better than that mate, hang this in the Louvre.
  20. Of players to play over 1,000 mins in the Championship last season, Daka was 1st for expected goals per90 Welcome Sam Surridge
  21. We have a month left, he’s been linked with a few Championship clubs, I’d expect some movement in the next couple of weeks hopefully. Maybe we saw Cannon as someone who had success in the Championship in the past, with maybe a long term outlook too. It’s a negative outlook, but if we get relegated again, at least we’d have someone who can do it at Championship level. That’s the thing Finners, if we continue with a similar setup as we’ve seen in Pre Season, getting in two 8/10 would look extremely unlikely. When it comes to a potential attacking midfielder, if the idea is to setup like we saw with Ndidi against Palermo, then it needs to be someone of the profile who is not only creative, but they must have the ability to press and win the ball high up the pitch. I’m very much on the fence with my enthusiasm for this season, whoever we get in for the CAM and ST roles will make or break us imo.
  22. A CAM and ST should be top priority by the Spurs game. Fail to do that, then this needs to happen at Seagrave...
