Fair result. Neither team was great. We dominated first 8 minutes, then Ipswich had a few-minute spell, we took back control and 0-0 at half time was about right. Could have been 1-0 to us at half time. Second half, a great goal from Davies, a bit out of nowhere, which then put us under pressure. Ipswich looked comfortable after their goal. We looked completely out of ideas, until Phillips then did what he did for West Ham last season – goes in idiot-mode and gets himself sent off. From there, it was only a case of us either scoring one or two goals. I think Cooper showed during the game that he is not good enough a manager at this level. Why I'm saying that is that Burgess is not a Premier League player. We should’ve targeted him earlier. Apart from that clearance from Ayew - for which Burgess just ran in a straight line for – he looked awful. Showing his experience, Ayew then figured him out, played a 1-2 and scored. Looking at the results and the teams around us, I think only one of us will stay up this season. We might still both go down. A draw might just prove to be an ok result for us.

Exactly this. Muric and Burgess aren't Premier League footballers. Yet we haven't put either under any pressure whatsoever. -

Watching this on a stream. Their stadium announcer and his "here are your super blues...whoooo aaaare theyyyy" is a solemn reminder that this is a club that was in League One two seasons ago. -

If we could just cut out the unnecessary, unforced errors, we'd be a decent team. -

I was actually impressed by Ayew's strength and tenacity yesterday. He can be a nuisance and I think, in high-intensity do-or-die game like we will have against Ipswich, he could prove key.

Get Ward off at half time. Embarrassing. And that's just his "distribution".

I appreciate that this is the League Cup. But Skipp looks like he's won a competition to be involved in a professional game. Does not look like this is his day job.
-
He could at least make an effort. Standing and admiring it going in isn't a great look.

Danny Ward doing Danny Ward things there.

This goes to explain why Danny Ward looks ok in training.

I'm now solidly on the Cooper out bandwagon. Very, very bad tonight. Forest are a decent team. But hardly world-beaters. Need to at least put up a fight against teams like that.

Brainless tackle from Ricci. I love him, but that was stupid. On a yellow now. -

Exactly this! Good on you, Stevo, you handsome Welsh so and so, showing us you've realised the error of your ways. 0-5 -

Going to sound harsh here, but I don't really care who the stadium announcer is. Having said that, if someone has lost their role/job because of Vardy's comment about Rudkin – whether due to an "unwritten rule" about questions or not – then I think it shows just how f*king petty and pathetic Rudkin and the club's leadership really is. They've already proven to be not very good at their jobs, so to be shown to be vindictive too (if indeed the announcer has been let go due to the parade) just adds to their charge list.

I actually partly agree with this! Being an optimist might be seen as naive and passive. But in some cases (obviously not in matters of life and death) if there is something you have no control over, then you might as well approach it positively. It just means that even if the worst happens, you haven't been dreading it and worrying about it for every second of your life up until it happens. And if the worst doesn't happen, then you can keep being happy and positive! I was crushed when we appointed Cooper. I didn't want him anywhere near our club. My fears have been realised - we look gash and are lucky to have the points total we have. He hasn't made us "look solid" as some claim. We've somehow defied all odds to not concede more. We've also, somehow, found ways of scoring more goals than we should. None of that will last all season. BUT. Cooper's here, we're not in the bottom three and the board aren't going to sack him anytime soon. So I'm going to try and enjoy every undeserved point, every lucky goal and every defying-the-odds-and-gravity save that Hermansen makes. That doesn't make me pro-Cooper. Just a "I can't sack him so I hope we stay up whoever is in charge, as I'm a City fan".
