  1. which pub was it about 12 years ago when we played them away where our fans just went completely berserk and trashed the place, was very civilised for a while and then out of nowhere everyone seemed to go mental. Remember seeing a hand dryer being thrown around it
  2. I'll believe it when I see it.
  3. This just has too many red flags for me. I'm convinced it's one of those we'd look at in a year and think it was a good move and look at in two years and think it was madness. We aren't going to get him on a reasonable deal, that seems to be precisely why he's left Burnley.
  4. No matter how bad we are I just can't see playing Derby as anything other than 6 points. We've had their number for ages. Them and Coventry have still never won at our current ground.
  5. Can I bet against some of you who think we'll lose to Wednesday. I'm as cynical as anyone and even I think we'll hammer them. It's like nothing I've ever seen - it's a step up from even that Hull game.
  6. Literally 0. I wouldn't give a single shit if the Wednesday game didn't go ahead. But that is partly driven by my own circumstance of being banned for nothing. I'd have some buzz if I was able to actually go although I don't think it would be very high. But yeah the club banning me for literally nothing puts it at bang on 0 for me.
  7. Just absolute lunacy if that's true. For that sort of money they should be at worst midtable PL players. It's just insane we sign this sort of stuff off.
  8. There are players I've more of an axe to grind with than Justin despite how poor he was last season, always felt he was a bit unlucky with injuries and got misused last season. He's probably had more bad games for us than good after such a promising opening couple of years and I want a big overhaul so for that reason - SELL!
  9. If he's left Burnley it will be because his demands are a bit silly. We will go and hand him something like £60k a week over four years.
  10. If we were having a drastic squad overhaul I would back the signing. You've worded it better than me - it's the pattern of behaviour rather than the player itself. I did think similarly with Coady and Winks at the time. Coady more so because he had just been shunned by basically the 16th and 17th best PL teams which was a big red flag. Winks in fairness I saw a bit more logic and you could have argued it was a real coup. I'm amazed at quite how badly Winks has dipped. He finished badly in 2023/24 and he was an absolute shambles last season. Brownhill definitely aids our team and for that reason it's hard to argue against the signing but it's not really that black and white for me anymore. I'd have backed it more two years ago than I do now.
  11. Before I say all of this I'll caveat by saying he's clearly pretty good and plugs what is a big gap in our team currently in that virtually none of the midfielders ever score. Winks, Skipp, Ndidi and Soumare have a combined 20 career goals. Brownhill got 18 last season alone and was a big part in Burnley's promotion. But I am scared. It's all very short-term thinking again. The Winks and Coady signings to me were both failures in the end - we paid a Premier League level fee and gave them both Premier League level contracts. Both of them therefore should be held to a standard of being above the Championship and both of them totally flunked it last season for us. Brownhill I fear is very similar. 29 years old and never really made much of an impact at PL level. He would be leaving a club who have just gone up to the Premier League and coming here - the only reason would be similar to why Coady came here instead of to Luton, Sheffield United etc.. - we would be paying over the odds. I can see it happening and I can see him being good for us in the Championship, but beyond that is my fear. If we were to pay him a PL level contract, we should be demanding a PL level output and nobody can seriously argue against this.
  12. I'm very torn on Josh Brownhill. He plugs the gap I think is a major issue in the squad in terms of midfield goals but it's another player who is approaching 30, who hasn't ever really made an impact at Premier League level that we could only attract here by offering a Premier League contract - why else would Burnley have let him go? It would be a decent short-term move but that is also the problem in itself, it has potential to preserve the problems we have.
  13. They'll still be older than a lot of our team (hopefully!)
  14. Pretty much where I am. Underachievement is all Aiyawatt knows. Generally you can calculate the level of ability in our squad and then knock about 10 points off it. Cifuentes will start well then get fed up. Pretty certain of that.
  15. Should be 3-0 minimum. We have lucked out enormously getting this fixture. Even I think we'll win comfortably. To lose it would be on a par with Newport for me.
  16. What on earth is it actually going to take for him to leave?
  17. Southampton have sold (in Euros) Sulemana 17mil Onuachu 5.7mil Amo-Ameyaw (who?!?!) 7mil And are about to sell Bednarek for about 9mil. Off the back of getting TWELVE POINTS in the Premier League. Our squad isn't good but please don't tell me that this lack of movement is an inevitability. You have quotes from Iversen and Praet to the tune that we play hardball, often unnecessarily. Stop giving this club a single bit of benefit of the doubt. How many times do they have to get it wrong? Everyone's default position at this point should be assuming they've fvcked up until they've proven they haven't. Certainly is here.
  18. There won't be a lot of movement in January. It will be next to nothing again.
  19. £31mil raised from the second worst team in Premier League history. But it's impossible to sell a single one of our players apparently. Absolutely sick to death of Rudkin.
  20. You get what you deserve in the end. We will only continue to slide. Clubs like Norwich, West Brom etc... will be the next to pass us (or we fall past them, whichever applies). There's this institutional delusion at Leicester that it will just magically get better. The penny may drop after it's far too late. It isn't just us. We are very similar to Manchester United - they won't get good any time soon either. Other clubs have gotten smarter and we still have 'Jon Rudkin' as our main football person. You get what you deserve.
  21. It was entirely predictable. Plenty towards the end of last season seemed to think we would get a big overhaul in the summer. It didn't happen in 2023 to the level it should've done so it was never going to happen this time around. There's no incentive for players to leave here. No serious demands on performance yet as good a wage as you can get outside of Saudi Arabia. Add in a director of football who is demonstrably utterly useless at moving players on. The absolute worst in the business. Sell before we buy, but we can never actually sell. Cifuentes will start well here because the majority of managers do, there's a bit of a point to prove. We have a relatively kind opening few fixtures. He will cotton on to what he's working under and lose interest / desire. He's got previous for it and that was under less inept people than ours. Bookmark it.
  22. Their insecurity is brilliant.
  23. He's right footed.
  24. Even when we buy cheap we still find a way to overpay.
  25. The ones who don't get the job I'd imagine.
