Development/Youth Squads 2025/2026 Thread - U18/U21
Aleksz replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Two more new players from our set up starting their pathways with England across two squads -
We’ve got one. Javier Ortiz joined a few months ago. Don’t blame you mind as it was never announced by our fantastic media team.
-
At the very least he won’t be at Newport post January. We’re playing catch up with his development, he’ll be off to league one if we aren’t going to use him. Clearly too good for league two.

Suggest you take a look at Man City’s academy outgoings over the last years before applying that logic. -

Regardless of whether it was done for PSR, he came here quite highly rated by Chelsea and the FA. One that yes hasn’t kicked on, but has also been mismanaged. Should have been out on loan to at least league 2 by now. -
McLaren have managed this expertly. so far
-
Interesting. Didn’t know that either. No way we’re that wise mind
-
I thought this but apparently rules changed and you can’t do it anymore. edit: in the same window
-
Or James getting a better offer which is more likely than anything discussed.
-
Because it’s how we’ve structured most of our loans - if there’s no obligation/option my point still stands and we won’t get a sniff. He will be playing premier league football next year in this form.
-
Showed signs of adapting tactically today and is slowly bombing out the dossers. Needs to put some results together and keep Page, Evans, Monga, Aluko and Nelson in the squad. Won’t hold my breath.
-
We aren’t gonna get a sniff with him unfortunately, I presume the deal is similar to the one we had with Fatawu where we only get an option/obligation if we’re promoted. James will be playing PL next year one way or another. Would love to see him wear the armband next time we’re without Ricardo.

No one is paying for a player, certainly not of winks’ level, they can have for free in 6months time.
-
So done with Pope.
-
I don’t think the draw is as bad as it looks on paper, Croatia aren’t anywhere near as good as they were, Ghana haven’t qualified for AFCON and Panama are… Panama.
-
Anyone else think TNT has been better with Prior? marginally
-
How quick it changes
-
Knew it was pretty poor going in to this series, but for Starc "stick" to be better than ours over these two tests is abysmal
-
Utterly depressing watch this, we don't have a single answer with the ball.
-
334 less than par in the sense that the 50+ runs Brook left on the table will probably cost us.
-
What was all the more baffling this morning, is they’d clearly decided they were actually going to leave a few, yet wafted a couple at Starc
-
Amazed he hasn’t tried this front three yet amid our striking woes, worth a go. Give all three of them license to roam where they want and positional fluidity - ya know that thing he talked about being in his philosophy.

Most technical directors start as scouts/recruitment analysts and have to start somewhere. Anyone that expected it was going to be anything other than someone young, inexperienced that wouldn’t stand up to much to the hierarchy… was burying their head in the sand unfortunately. You’re right that KPFC cult will lap it up though.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-15352981/Leicester-City-League-One-points-deduction-Rudkin.html Tom Collomosse name checks Ben Wrigglesworth as one to keep an eye on for the Technical Director role, just as I did about 10 pages ago Also mentions they probably won’t be in position until after Jan window.
