  1. Not surprised, we know better than most how stubborn he is - he’d of ended up walking from this mess before getting pushed even if he’d never left us. Glad he’s walking from their shitshow on his own terms. Agree with others that his philosophy is a bit dated in modern football terms but I’d back him to adapt.
  2. Some of the exaggeration on this forum these days is crazy. In my first seasons as a ST holder I watched Elvis Hammond, Mark De Vries, Luigi Glombard and Chris O’Grady lumber around the pitch
  3. We lose this, beat West Brom. Round and round we go.
  4. Watched the game back with Littler to see what all the fuss was about. Think he came out with the hump as the histrionics started pretty early - still don’t think it changes my mind that a player shouldn’t be able to give it back if he receives it. What I would say is I think he acknowledged a pretty heavy German crowd as he really doesn’t get on with them as proven from his antics on tour this year.
  5. Getting the niggling injuries you see after a big one, we’ve seen the same with Ricardo. Warm up process wasn’t right last night at all. Wouldn’t rule him out, would just say this is the problem when you “rely on” a player after having such a bad injury.
  6. 9/9 on doubles. Rock in total disbelief
  7. Justin Hood has to be the most likeable newbie to turn up in a long time, batshit
  8. Agreed, he’s good for this Enzo system - and Marti’s poor imitation of it, where two from the midfield attack the box from deeper areas, but if he was to play for a manager that plays with one out and out 10 he’d get found out in that position I feel.
  9. Yeah you’re right, confused the age he signed a pro deal with the date of his trial. He was 15, still pretty late mind.
  10. I think he should go and play top end of league one at least, he’s playing catch up thanks to the injury, but understand lots of the arguments against it.
  11. Club picked him up on trial from London Park football at 17yo. Quite impressive how he’s adapted.
  12. I’d wonder if there’s stipulations that they have to activate the option at the end of the season and not January - and Rennes can refuse a January offer, and bank the higher fee in the summer. It would seem not by the sounds of having “a plan”.
  13. Yeah realised that after I posted it. They’ll essentially make a profit within 6 months without doubt. My only doubt would be is it really like us to be that on the ball
  14. I’m not really sure what that tweet/quote implies - surely we haven’t got the money to pay the fee for him in January? Perhaps anticipating a sale that pays for him? Great news if so.
  15. Didn’t really agree with the shouts that he looked off the pace in his earlier season cameos anyway, but he looked well up to it last night. Manipulated the ball and used his body well. Should have been a bit more selfish and had a crack on goal late on.
  16. Does this mean we can’t consider Jakub and Aluko as academy graduates too then? Both joined from other clubs/later age? Not disagreeing, genuinely intrigued
  17. What’s making the ground a dream for away teams to visit is the squad the management/hierachy have served up on the pitch and the atmosphere that the majority of the ground provide. If we’re being honest the passive and tepid section of our fanbase are becoming just as much of a problem as Top and Rudkin themselves, they deserve each other.
  18. Think he’s shown tonight what it is Marti see’s in him - incredibly willing runner, presses better than most of this squad, runs in behind. Don’t think he’ll pull up too many trees but that kind of attitude we can all get behind.
  19. Never got my head around calling sportsmen/women out for showing “arrogance”. Sport would be boring without characters/moments like that.
  20. Could we take a leaf out of celtics book and get something like this on the go for our next TV game too? Hand them out away from the ground, easily concealed etc etc
  21. Quite. Commentators were raving about him at the weekend - offers them great Albrighton style delivery off the right that Thomas no doubt would have offered him the chance to do on a platter.
  22. Been listening to RL during games recently, probably to give myself some form of actual entertainment. Piper had a good 20 minute rant at FT last night, as much as someone can working for the BBC, defo didn’t sit on the fence.
  23. Practically defended on his own yesterday. Okoli and Thomas had rotters, Ricardo constantly caught on the break.
  24. It’s worse now in the sense we all hate everything and rightly so, at least in those mid 2000’s we all just understood that we were crap and got on with it.
