Kristiansen doesn't offer that much in attack though, does he?
And there's a reason why Thomas doesn't. He's the defensive full back while the right hand side goes up with Ricardo usually supporting Fatawu.
You don't always need a full back overlapping just for the sake of it.
Kristiansen may bust a gut to get up to the pitch but does he ever do much with it?
Can't see anything but an easy Max win unless there's drama like yesterday in quali.
Or if he unusually makes a mistake. Hard for the McLarens to get up the track.
Considering we seemingly have a set piece coach, it was quite disappointing today.
The only 2-3 we looked mildly threatening from were the near post ones from Ayew where Fatawu was trying to flick it on.
The other one was the free kick Winks played into Ayew and then into Fatawu but then he couldn't control it.
Kristiansen should not be starting ahead of Thomas.
Not sure why the latter gets such a rough ride, like today he was fine albeit nothing special (but as a LB in this system you don't need to be Roberto Carlos levels...).
If anything Kristiansen is worse...
That was really frustrating when Ayew was doing that. Especially when we have a quick break getting through the lines and there's no one for Fatawu to aim for.
Absolutely no idea what the thinking behind it is.
Absolutely brilliant.
Made everything tick and constantly wanted the ball, and actually did something with it.
He'll come up against worse midfields today and be rewarded with wins and MOTM awards.
How are people seeing more chances for them
We had 9 on target. They had 3...
17 in total, 11 for them.
10 corners, 3 for them.
By any metric, unless you fell asleep during the game, we had far more chances!
Would help if Thomas knew what each signal meant. There was the one right at the end the coach put two arms up.
Then Thomas puts one arm up and it goes to the keeper
