I 100% agree. I'm not trying to diminish or negate what the fans have done. Just that I think the club have such a hard on for going mobile that whatever happens/happened this season, they'll still push ahead with mobile ticketing.

Club are intent on going digital. This won't make a jot of difference for future seasons, sadly. Not to say that the fan groups haven't done well, but club are so driven to go digital that next season they'll just force it, and not even have physical card as an option. I think what works against the officer in question (apart from being overly aggressive in the first place) is the fact he's done two things. Either the kick or the stamp is bad enough, but to do both is just totally unnecessary.

This is worrying that you see it as 'exemplary behaviour'.

It's quite clear that whatever happened prior was quite serious. But what I then don't get is that the police have got their man. All that appeared needed was them to make the arrest, no? He was down on the floor. They did what they needed to do which was to reduce the risk to themselves and the public. What use was there in kicking him and stamping him on the head? They have clearly let their anger get the better of them, and therefore unable to control it in this kind of situation. No one is leaping to judge. Everyone in here has acknowledged that they're probably nasty individuals and deserved to be caught based on what GMP have stated. Got nothing to do with the dislike of social media. Or nothing to provoke. It's fair game for the police involved to be criticised with their OTT reaction considering they seemingly had the individuals under their control.

Also, just to add, I don't condone any violence towards police, armed or not. But I do believe in using force only when necessary.

But he was on the floor, restrained, and already under enough pressure to not do anything. What need was there to kick him in the head (!) AND then stamp on his head on the floor? It's unreasonable force. There's also plenty of backup for the police if he was to get up and start, not to mention the police are already armed, and with tasers. I don't see where the risk is, in this clip, that he was about to steal their guns.
