Transfer Deadline Day - Prediction Thread
Lesta Legend replied to EnderbyFox's topic in Transfer Talk
BEK and Fatawu? Worth remembering Cooper wanted premier league experience and was keen on Skipp!! No doubt restructuring is needed and I’m certain an organised competent DOF would decide what does and doesn’t work and make required changes. -
Agent knows we’re doomed and wants to avoid his client taking a wage cut. They know will reject reasonable offers for him come summer. If we have any chance of staying up it’s a fully fit Wilf.

Filbert Street or the King Power Stadium

Filbert Street. The success we’ve had at the KP have brought many fond memories that are up there with the best. But the KP is soulless compared to Filbert Street. -
Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

They also mix it up with five at the back based on who they play. -
This. If the club had got the right players in (sold the right players) based on a consistent style and approach it shouldn’t matter who the manager is. For example you don’t appoint Cooper and you don’t sign Coady (he wasn’t an Enzo signing !) if the club is insistent on a modern possession based approach. Our recruitment is so inconsistent and changing with each manager. What’s the long term strategy and plan!

Should never have appointed Cooper in the first place. He was the first and yet another mistake the board have made this year. Can people stop with the nonsense revisionism. -
But Facundo is Sh*t apparently
-
You’d think we’d at least try five at the back to see if that shores us up defensively. Clearly we’re stuck with the same players who took us down. Do something differently. Haven’t bothered watching. Moyes has like expected got them motivated and organised. They’ll stay up.

Straight out of the clubs handbook. Be seen to bid on an exciting player at the very last minute but bid a silly £1m above a bid already rejected. Obviously they know it will be rejected. But at least we tried. Like Sensi. One can hope we get players in but we fck around too much too late.

The kiss of death for a Brazilian target.

Managers have clearly been giving a bigger say on whom we sign or the profile of player we sign in recent years, Ruud hinted about his own network. The recruitment process is managed by others and ultimately signed off by the DOF not by the manager. Long term planning and strategy wouldn’t have been anything to do with a manager in a job for two months. Steve Cooper’s insistence on premier league experience appears to have left us with average players and likely no room to spend with the threat of relegation. Skipp being one of the follys. We mostly predicted this is how it’ll play out, Ruud seemed confident but clearly now frustrated. In fairness to him he has shown some fight in the light of the BS he has had to make do with.
-
It’ll rise even further, he also allegedly doesn’t have a great attitude. They’d be insane to not cash in and sell Watkins. Good position in league and Europe.
-
Exactly, there is a reason he isn't getting picked (two managers) and due to our own incompetence and foresight in planning we're stuck with a player who is completely useless and i'd rather throw Evans in the mix than to give him any game time. Whether Akpom is the answer as a back up or the 2nd striker up top, i'm not sure it is, but he's better than Edouard IMO. Our issue is we have 6 days to get players through the door in a difficult window to sign anyone other than players not wanted and then those players are expensive too. And player's that you want that will make a difference, not sure I have any trust that we've planned that far ahead and are within our clearly small budget.

I love that he did this in Spanish, most of the squad wouldn't have had a clue what was being said, so kind of private but also Facundo certainly would have understood clearly. It makes sense the individual that leaked it clearly got this wrong. I like the fact he challenges our players and sounds like he is straight to the point. I'm not fully there with Ruud and his selections but real authority seemed to be lacking in recent years, so more for it. -

Back him it’s as simple as that. The board are in the firing line at the moment and the protest will be aimed squarely at them. He deserves more support than he’s got. -

I’ve heard over many years that Vardy hasn’t done too much today. An isolated position as the sole striker, what did they expect. Never right him off even at his age! -
And that a route to the team and game time is vital for development.
-
Lots of players kick on once they penny drops and that confidence in their own ability is there. He’ll be a number one either with us or a different club, he’s better than a number two!
-
RVN hasn’t lost the dressing room. TOP NEEDS TO BACK HIM
-
Rinse and repeat. Chasing another game. Formation doesn’t work. Not the strongest side. Laurel and Hardy comedy act in the stands.
-
Exactly and play the strongest team.
-
Seriously if that’s the best we got having nearly broken PSR twice.
