  1. I don't see the logic, - We don't have a youth prospect that is remotely ready to challenge Luke Thomas. Mirsad Ali is a long way off it. - Your issue about our own youth then becomes irrelevant if it's an experienced player, ok .... The profile of the player in whoever we target is the most important factor, if an experienced player of certain profile isn't available for loan then there is nothing wrong with signing a youth player. Like lot's have said, he is very fast and strong defensively, we have recruited experienced pro's further up the pitch (Cullen) who are SLOW, so player's like him and Aluko / JJ will be massively important. Pearson utilised the loan youth market very well last time too
  2. A very specific manager signing which never works out for us. It does emphasise recruitment wise we still haven't a clue who too target. If we spend money there areas bargains to be had but as an organisation we're not aware of them
  3. A further reply will confirm that I believe those players should be in our squad. In fact at the forefront of RM's plans. My original point was I don't see the issue with signing a loan youth premier League player over a mythical experienced loan and especially if in that one position we're very weak and especially if the our youth option isn't ready.
  4. @Ric Flair Mirsad Ali clearly isn't in RM's plans and Kevon Gray looking likely too. I am loving the 8 or 9 lads that have had a great pre season and I think they should be in there, even though RM said some could go on loan, yes I'd be against that. I've seen enough of them! But we are short of numbers in some areas (maybe more acutely after sales) of the squad and may need a smart loan. There are simply some positions where our own youth option isn't ready for league one. I'd love to have the headache of Aluko and JJ for every position on the pitch , we just don't. You know more about the youth than me but a few loans looks a no brainer to supplement where we lack. And I'm racking my brains who we can attract to drop to league one who has experience and who will be available on loan.
  5. We're lacking in several areas of the pitch with our existing youth. I'm all for playing our youth team, for you instance Mirsad Ali is not ready. Lots simply aren't ready even for league one. Okoli is shite and grey doesn't appear ready and if we do move Souttar and Faes we're going to be very light at CB. We're going to loan or sign on a free anyone that can fill the numbers. It would lovely for our superb scouting network to loan a mythical player that mysteriously isn't shite and is still available for bags or league one experience. Whether it's a youth loan or 'experienced' loan it would still take a youngsters space either way! Some areas of the pitch we need more bodies it's as simple as that.
  6. We did this last time we were in league one and last time the same complaints around players that were young and straight loans, it worked then and whether you like it or not we will utilise the same approach too. Firstly we should be recruiting players with a right profile for the positions we're weakest in, the options for a loan with experience (without a fee) will be difficult to get right, especially this late in the window! We loaned absolute dross in the form of the likes of Edouard and we would have been better placed getting a young hungry loanee. Unless we bring in actual money from the remaining sellable assets we will struggle to spend any money to bring in the RIGHT players with experience. We're more than likely limited to looking at frees and loans, we're scaping the barrel in terms of quality, premier league youngsters at the back end of the window will help to fill certain gaps, will likely see two or three at least.
  7. why? We will have to loan a number of players I would imagine
  8. £0.00 spend I'd imagine
  9. I think admin is inevitable. Why spend X amount when you could wait out until the asset is a LOT cheaper. As a fan I literally hate being so pessimistic but the pattern of behaviour from KP only points one way. A very horrible bumpy ride.
  10. I don't get why some are suggesting we loan them out. We're league one he if anything will push those in the squad around him and with so many games he will be invaluable. What's the point of loaning a player to a league two side with no guarantee of play time and I can't see who we bring in who would be a squad player who has his talent and desire to play for the club. We failed last year too utilise youngsters don't make that same mistake. Recruit better starters and go with our youth players.
  11. We're going into the season like we've done for the past five or six I'll equipped to deal with the league we're in, let alone get promoted out of it which some seem too think we will. I've even started feeling sorry for RM as he's in a long line of manager's that will have once again been let down by the owner. All while that owner driving positivity and an expectation we will be ok. I'm very happy to see our youngsters doing so well and I hope we build around them. But they're are glaring holes in that team (striker anyone) that look likely to either be in adequately addressed late on in the window or not at all. I really hope for the best and I will take a lot of pride fully supporting those players (especially the youngsters) who put in an effort this season. But I can't see past the KP pattern of behaviour leaving the club ill equipped (full of misfits) trying to play RM's possession style staring down the barrel of administration. Best be realistic in expectations but I'll support the team and hope these youngsters can achieve something remarkable.
  12. Keep every single one of those youngsters. Yes we need to ensure we have seasoned pros in there. But every good thing about us and the effort and the heart is coming from them.
  13. Our youth will be paramount for saving this club. Build around them. Give them a chance.
  14. We need to think of Graham Brock at this difficult time.
  15. Brilliant, any other made up facts you got there brother? 😅
  16. That's KP for you !
  17. If the news yesterday didn't make it clear, we likely won't spend a lot if any on a top quality striker. The club relied on what they had last year. I'd imagine will play a lot next season with a loan or a mysterious good free that hasn't been snapped up and wants to play league one football. It's probably unfair to build him up and put undue pressure on him. But I get it, we're desperate for the youth to step up as we can't rely on the incompetents to get it right.
  18. Also their consistent upward trajectory on the pitch has helped with unrealised gains with potential huge growth (premier league..) which has helped further investment. Us on the other hand we have been mismanaged on and off the pitch with a steady decline over the last 5 years (if not a little longer IMO), so our downward trajectory on the pitch has severely impacted the valuation of the club as an asset, the potential (it does still have !) will only ever be realised again by better management at every level of the club and investment. Anyone who still believes KP are capable of doing both, we you're completely delusional.
  19. They haven't stopped at all. Money is still very much flowing especially into US and Europe. However more cautious in their approach and a reshuffling and rebalancing of portfolio's. However that latter point would suggest a splurge of cash into a sports company would be less of a cautious investment at the moment and with the pull out from LIV golf may be a good indication that some of those that dream of the oil money may be out of luck.
  20. With that in mind any potential buyer would probably see better value in picking us up cheaper in administration, they can wait it out. And if KP takes the delusional Chansiri stance, we very much will repeat the slow painful path of Sheffield Wednesday.
  21. I can see it now, struggle to get promoted into administration by the end of the season. I wouldn't out it past them.
  22. Good find works a charm
  23. Our new overlords. insha'Allah habibi
