The loss of Cox if rumours are true is a massive loss. One of our best and most reliable players. -

I do apologise for banging on about the same things but I do again feel the need to reply. By my understanding we prepared what would be called a “result” pitch, meaning it was never going to be a draw, this is fine as in the case of the Yorkshire pitch as the pitch played well, a good contest between bat and ball, on the other hand the Glamorgan pitch although looking like it was prepared similarly to the previous Yorkshire pitch didn’t provide an even contest between bat and ball as there was plenty of seam early on and also uneven bounce. That is what the ECB will be reviewing, unfortunately as I’ve previously said the pattern of the game by my understanding is not taken into account, going 4 days and 2 batters making 90+ may help us but it’s unlikely. I think we have to prove that we attempted to prepare the best pitch we possibly could for the game but we’ve left ourselves in a difficult position as we purposely cut the pitch two different lengths. On a side note personally I’d allow the home ground to do what they want with pitches (within reason) and have home advantage, it certainly would make batters value their wicket and play on a variety of pitches which eventually will produce better technique. England seem to be able to do what they want with home test match pitches but that doesn’t apply to the County game. Sorry for the long winded response 🤣 -

I’m assuming they try and prepare the best pitch possible. There is no average mark unfortunately although I do understand your frustration as it seems like we are being picked on. Coach interference is rife in cricket and particularly at Leicester and we’ve been caught out this time and it’s going to have a huge impact on our season. -

They may have however the pitch still has to meet the ECB criteria. It doesn’t matter what it looks like, it’s how it plays. The match referee will assess it for Seam, spin, carry and bounce, if anything is deemed to be “excessive” then it’ll be marked down by the independent match referee. Hopfully we can show we prepared the best pitch we possibly could have. -

They will assess the length of grass, which were 2 obviously different lengths, too much seam movement from the grassier middle part coupled with the uneven bounce has left us in a tricky position, how do we claim we prepared the best possible pitch when we left so much grass on? Just playing devils advocate here. -

There is only above or below average, no average. It doesn’t matter what’s gone on say at Edgbaston or Trent Bridge, they will only look at how the Glamorgan pitch played. Those grounds will have different match referees who will assess the pitch. The match referee I’m assuming marked it BA due to seam and uneven bounce. They are not looking into whether the pitch is BA as the match referee will already have marked it as such, they will be looking into whether there was “intent” to prepare a pitch which wasn’t the best pitch possible. If we are looking at weather conditions for example and reducing the chance of seam movement then cut the grass the same length and not leave it 2 different lengths, we didn’t do that so therefore have left ourselves in a difficult position. Pitch marking system is- Very good Good Above average Below average Poor Unfit -

I don’t really agree with the “corrupt” ECB people are claiming, each individual pitch is marked on its own merits by the match referee present during the whole game. The key is did Leicestershire prepare the best pitch possible? As that is the important question, it doesn’t matter what’s happened at other grounds as they will have their own match referee present. The game going 4 days is also irrelevant. Pitches are marked on seam, spin and uneven bounce and if any of these are deemed to be “excessive” then there will be a pitch enquiry. Leicestershire (Henderson and Thomas) will have known the risks in not preparing the best pitch possible (if that turns out to be the case) Thats the way the ECB guidelines work. -

Cock up on the promotion front. -
Facebook is full of Rangers and Southampton supporters saying “we told you so” or “we warned you” but we ALL knew how useless he is, literally everyone knew and yet we still employed him, it’s baffling, it’s beyond comprehension, it’s unexplainable.

How is old Harps doing? Top top guy. -
Great post. It’s beyond belief that we employed him, nobody but our management wanted him here. I just cannot believe how inept we are, time after time making ridiculous decisions, it seems like self sabotage. I just cannot even begin to comprehend the thought process of giving him the job.

A long long catalogue of errors. Off the field and on we’ve been appalling for a good few seasons, nobody learns from their mistakes and nobody is held accountable (bar managers) who come and go. It’s all been discussed before. Desperate is an understatement. -
The bloke is a charlatan. A very rich one though! It’s just so desperate, I’m not going to go on about the obvious again. Everyone that knows football knows where our problems lie. Our great club is being destroyed and it’s just heartbreaking to see it happening.
