  1. Looks like they went for it instead of accepting. BBC News - Uefa to boycott World Cup if Fifa plans go through https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c5y67zrrdddo

    The Weather

It was raining when I left Leicester this afternoon. Once I got home to South Derbyshire it was like it hadn't happened 🤣. Hopefully at least doust stuff a bit so we dont get any fires. I heard that Shepshed had a bit of a fire going on.
  3. Drove past it on the way to LRI earlier. Not fell down but looked like the whole roof had gone. Looks to be accidental the fire brigade say.
  4. Tell me you are backed by the same folks as the Republicans without telling me. America barely had a lock down because of Trump and his red states. Lowe is a prat.
  5. BBC News - Fifa sets 19 September deadline to claim initial $20m as World Cup row boils over - BBC Sport https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cvg7vglq9wpo Called it.
  6. In the country for less than 24 hours now spending time in prison here. Extradite him to Norway and have them deal with him hopefully
  7. BBC News - BBC cancels Blankety Blank, Celebrity Mastermind and Live at the Apollo https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/clyx8j33k7zo Honestly thought Blankety Blank was on once a year at Christmas. More BBC cuts though. Add to that the annual purge where they "newly discover" someone has a checkered past and getting rid of them, they are really going to town in pulling it apart. I wish they had been able to keep the commonwealth games though and the full olympic compliment.
  8. I can see that happening, with the big Football Associations coming out against it. FIFA however won't care. Infantino doesn't care about football, he just wants to commit more corruption than Blatter it seems. He will win presidency again because he goes around getting all the small island nations backing with a few million quid and it gets him over the line. All of UEFA could not vote for him as president and back Deschamps and it would still be a resounding victory. UEFA will moan. CONMEBOL may moan. CONCACAF will back it as they will make the money out of it, CAF will back it. AFC may stir, but won't kick up a fuss and OFC will back it is my prediction. Would be good to see UEFA vote to leave the world cup. Get another Euro's or a 4 year UEFA V CONMEBOL on the go a bit like how the rugby guys do north v south hemisphere.
  9. I dont think things like metalwork need to come back, and i remember how pointless it was me sitting in Textiles class for half a year, but I really think economics needs to be a thing. How interest works and other basic banking stuff, how to budget, even basic shit like what a mortgage is and what pensions do. So many dont know any of that and I didn't learn it until I moved out at 19. I didn't know what council tax was until I moved out. Literally called them up and asked if I had to pay that much as I wasnt in all the time 🤣
  10. https://isaiprofitable.com/ The bubble will burst in time. As always with these things, it's the people selling the pickaxes that get rich in the gold rush. The part about teaching kids a trade is good. The price of that is going to fly through the roof as the tradies retire. Demand will always be there, but the supply of folks who can do the job is dwindling.
  11. I was thinking that. Then again, I don't see my 2 year old keeping his interest for a whole match. Right now every morning since the world cup started he got used to watching the highlights with me of a morning. He now comes down, sits down and grabs his football and shouts "goal!" at the TV until I find some highlights of any old game to whack on
  12. In the prem I swear they were £40-45. May be why I looked and thought it looked cheaper.
  13. I only found out a few weeks ago that a mimossa and bucks fizz are the same drink
  14. https://inside.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking/men Finished 3rd. Stay 4th in the world rankings.
  15. You have to make a major **** up to get tagged as a bad England manager. Not qualify, out at group stage, lose to a team named after a supermarket etc etc. Tuchel's football looked good in bursts and people will hold on to that and forget such shite as: 0-0 against a team with Jordan Ayew up top Taking 65 mins to break a team down Panama. Being 15 minutes away from Congo taking us out after some bad defending and Goalkeeping Man marking Haaland out the game, only to allow that other one to score. More poor Goalkeeping imo. Argentina. Enough said there. When we are talking of highlights being in bursts such as 2nd half against Croatia or 2nd quarter against Mexico it shows that you have to really cock up to be punted out. Southgate I will always stand by wasn't a good manager. He was a defensive manager who didn't dare attack and had a very fortunate couple of runs in tournaments and when it came to decent opposition, he choked it. Tuchel came in and said we were always too afraid to go out and he would fix that, then had 6 defenders on at 70 mins and let Messi run the right wing. If it isn't clear, I don't rate Pickford and think his England time needs to be over. There is a reason he is at Everton and the bigger clubs aren't ever interested and he ain't staying out of loyalty. People mistake passion for talent sometimes. He likes to pull funny faces and shout and make a godly save from time to time, but he isn't that good. This isn't a golden generation like the 06 lot were, but this felt the best time you are going to get Kane and Bellingham working together. Rashford seemed to be trying to put himself in the shop window more than play as a team sometimes. A few times he could have been a better team mate but instead went for it and lost it. Saka people are saying should have played against Argentina as he then scored 3 against France, but he was part of the problem in the wings too before that. Southgate was lucky in his runs to get teams on their way dowwn the rankings or low ranked teams. Tuchel got lucky and had Kane and Bellingham bail him out much like Messi did Argentina. He will lead us into the Euro's unless he finds a way to put us in danger of not winning our qualifying group for Euro 2028 or having to rely on the UEFA safety net to get us in.
  16. My wife has an app for that....
  17. Not sure I would be a fan of any of the 3 who have walked in so far becoming Chancellor. I thought Milliband was for the heave ho as energy secretary and out on his ear entirely.
  18. Messi probably more annoyed he only gets to lift the world cup once and the Qataris made him lift it in that Ann Summers nighty when he did.
  19. Has Micah been watching the same Yamal as me all tournament?
  20. That replay of the Argentinian player going for a scrap after losing sums them up. Happy to have their subs run across the pitch mid match when they score against us, but cant take defeat, and a just defeat, with grace. Messi on the way out now. They cant use their safety net and shithouse their way through any more. Hoping they fall back down the pecking order now. Take your bedsheet flag guys and feck off home.
  21. The fact the final is played out by 2 teams who drew with Cape Verde in 90 minutes just occurred to me.
