ozleicester Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 Amazing that people commenting here (most of whom will never achieve true wealth) have been fooled by the Mega rich. We are nothing more than the modern day serfs, to the 2015 version of land barons and kings. But worse, we have been duped into thinking that we should be grateful for their benevolence in allowing us to slave for them for 40 hours a week in return for payment barely 1 10,000th of their income. We have been suckered by the idea that if we all aspire to greatness and we work hard for our masters, then we too will become rich. Look around you folks, the rich continue to get richer and you continue to work your time for your wage (which in many cases is less than it was 5 years ago). The GFC should have shown us all what was wrong, the excess of finance and banking, the exploitation of the working class by the ruling elite, but no, instead, we were sacked, took pay cuts and worked longer hours and what have the wealthy given up exactly? We are being sold a story folks, an aspirational dream that wont come true. Do your job, earn your money and make the most of it... when the final day comes, no-one ever says i wish i spent longer at work, no-one ever says... dont let me die, i just need another few $ then ill be rich. Enjoy your life, your family, your friends (damn, even your football club in a relegation year) but dont waste your life chasing the dreams and lifestyles that advertisers, the media and the modern day barons keep pretending is what you need.

Christoph Posted 7 April 2015 Posted 7 April 2015 I think it's easy to bash and ignore him because he's such an eccentric character. The way he speaks can be a bit marmite for people although I do find it quite funny. He makes a lot of good points (and stupid ones) and certainly rises eyebrows over selfishness of capitalism and our governments.

Vacamion Posted 17 April 2015 Posted 17 April 2015 I was at the cinema this evening and one of the trailers was Mr Brand's film, out soon. From what I saw, he goes around bullying some bank security staff and is then positioned in front of a white screen whilst giving a kind of socialist utopian party political broadcast. I think I'd rather go and see Paul Blart, Mall Cop II than that. RB comes across as an utter bobnugget.
