Just think back to this time in 2008 and at where we found ourselves under Holloway back then - 'nuff said! Keeeeep :-)

I wonder if we can finally put the Pearson haters in context. After all this time there are still 80% + respondents want him to stay; presumably with an acknowledgement that there are flaws etc. Just because they (the haters) are loud persistent and vitriolic, clearly doesn't mean they represent mainstream views

This week, see the wba rating, Scouse fox about sums it, about 50 % changing their minds, dependant on the result.

So we are going back down lines of calling people who either don't rate pearson, or have no faith in him, haters again.

Never seen you post before, so I suggest we don't go down these lines again.

I think this vote is flawed, the options offered are not diverse enough for me to give my opinion, in which case I haven't voted. The problem is I don't think I can yet decide (and I suspect this is the same for many others) whether Pearson should be sacked at the end of the season.

At the beginning of the season I was most certainly a Pearson-fan boy after the previous season of records and jubilations. Then we went on to beat a certain team in red in THAT game, at which point I would have had Pearson's children, (if I were indeed a female, although I'm not sure that would have stopped me trying) - it was to be the return to the Premier league that we all expected, a comfortable mid-table finish and a pat on the back for all concerned, hurrah. Things however, turned sour quite quickly. Fast forward to Christmas, bottom of the table, no way out, woe is me, etc. etc. Again, we have a mini-revival, against the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool (albeit we didn't get the points we probably deserved) and then we go and buy a European superstar from the clutches of Mourinho's money-soaked palms. Life felt good. Then it didn't again, and by the time we drew against Dull in one of the Hullest "must-win" matches in a long time I had lost all faith. Pearson must go. And then, somehow, it got better again... 3 goals against Spurs, wins against Wham and the Baggies and we're seemingly back on track, still bottom of the table but now one of the favourites to stay up.

Our season has been quite a rollercoaster (pardon the X-Factor style cliché!)

So do I want Pearson to stay at the end of the season? Only if this mini-revival is sustainable. If we go down, but go down fighting, then yes, I think Mr P has to stay. If we stay up (even on goal difference) I think Pearson has to be given at least until Christmas to prove that he has learnt what it takes to be a Premier League manager. If however, we go down because we have reverted back to our woeful displays of trying not to lose and win hardly any points in the process, then I think, Nigel's time has come.

Regardless, I don't believe in the notion that we should be sentimental about the decision. Pearson's achievements at this club have been phenomenal, and I thank him for every single one of them, but I just can't see how we can use past successes as a reason to overlook current failures. If a manager has lost his game we need someone else, simple as.

I, for one, hope that this is the beginning of something special and Nige knows what is required to kick on, because he's not such a bad boss, really.
