Isle of Wight Fox 86 Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Just a quick poll to see if you would like to see Pearson in charge next season or not, even if we stay up, or go down. Not too sure if this has been raised before hand, but thought I would ask anyway. Would be interesting to see what peoples perceptions are of him after the last 2 games. For me, I think he will be gone at the end of the season, purely because of the mistakes that have happened this season. Be interesting what people think if we are relegated or if we manage to stay up.

Be interesting what people think if we are relegated or if we manage to stay up. I've voted what i would like to see! Personally, i would keep him! Certainly if we do go down, i can't think of many mangers we could attract to the club that i would actually want! We had years of shit before and after Nig (the first time), even this year, whilst we have struggled for results, performances overall have been good. Its been a big learning curve for all and whatever the outcome i think we will be better for it next year!
Voll Blau Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Voted keep on both, just because I know how much it winds up the cranks who have had it in for him since day one.
ozleicester Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Its weird actually, imo he is more at risk of losing his job, if we stay up, than if we are relegated. Ive voted to keep him either way, he has defintlyt made mistakes, but he is learning .. AND, the man has done a brilliant job. *Of course, i retain the right to change my opinion based on the first 10 minutes of our next game
AyewJoking Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 stay up or go down, surely the squad will be boosted with talent making NP's job easier.
lgfualol Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Keep him both times. If we stay up employ a decent coach (with prem exp) or two to support him i.e set pieces. If we go down and sack him we will stay down imo.
Benguin Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 If Rachel Riley becomes available then sack him, till then he's our only hope.
RedSoxUK Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Recent performances don't account for his messy display in management this season. His inexpensive squad building from the U18s up + bringing in Phillips as a coach scream 'future' for me. The amount of talent in the youth pools may not all be down to him, but the future actually does looks bright. Even given our terrible form, we're only a point behind gravel throat and QPR, and 3 behind Hull who handed Bruce a new contact not long ago. If we're relegated I think Pearson can hang onto the bulk of the squad, and make replacements where necessary, I believe we'll be one of the teams who go straight back up - the fact we haven't been battered 5/6 - 0 and riding confidence and form NOW, is great for the players even if we do go down, they know they're capable. If we stay up, great - amazing achievement, typical Pearson. I'd need to see/hear of a different plan and approach the next time round though, it's all fair finishing 17th, but it doesn't mean we'll be fine the season after, weak links will have to be improved, and the old tat need to be replaced. I say stick with him, I don't think the owners will sack either way - he's integral to the structure of the club.
Gerard Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 I've been an advocate of getting rid of him but I don't think he's that bad a manager, there are plenty worse. In fact I actually quite like Pearson and have warmed to him over the last ten days (can't think why). If we can get the right man in then I say sack him regardless of what division we'll be in next season but don't get rid of him without a plan. A manager should be like a player, regardless of performance if you can get someone in who will do a better job then do it. Look at the flak Southampton took when they got rid of Adkins but it proved to be the right decision. I'd like to see Gallardo from River Plate get the managers job but don't sack Pearson if we're going to end up with Malky McKay or Neil Warnock.
hackneyfox Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Sack him whatever happens. Too many mistakes being repeated. Shown no improvement as a manager over this season. We've only gone to attack mode because we had no other option, a decent manager wouldn't have tried to just sit back and not concede like he's done.
Corky Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 No, too much has happened this season. Thank him for his efforts should we stay up, move on and start again if we go down.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 I want him to stay regardless. What your poll questions ask though are what I think will happen. Not what I want to happen.
Donut Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Has to go for me at the end of the season. Reasons have been discussed on other threads previously, the recent wins havent changed my long term view on the issue. Must be replaced if the club are to improve in the Premier League, and if we go down, squad needs new ideas and new rejuvenation. Those are my thoughts in a nutshell. Sack on both counts.
yorkie1999 Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 How about this being poll to end all polls and settle it once and for all about what people want.
David Hankey Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 In the unlikely event of us escaping relegation let's no forget the dark days we endured for most of this season. Yes he got us out of League 1 and promoted us to the EPL but the owners, although they are not really football savvy, must realise that for this Club to get to the next level a change in manager is essential. I know some will want to bestow on NP the 'Freedom of the City' should we stay up and all will be forgotten but mediocrity will reign if he is kept in charge. It is time for change and change for once will be for the better.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 Easy answers- SACKED. Nothing has changed as far as I am concerned.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 How about this being poll to end all polls and settle it once and for all about what people want. At the end of the day, it wont make a scrap of difference what we may think. It's down to the owners, and they are likely to keep him, more's the pity.
Number 6 Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 If we stay up it'll mean well have played much better for the last 9 games of the season. That's a decent chunk not to be sniffed at. Recruitment will have to be better in the summer but again we saw glimpses of that in January with Kramaric and Huth brought in. No doubts mistakes have been made, but if he achieves the goal of keeping us up, then he'd stay on for me. If we go down, it really depends on how the season pans out And who is available. If we play like we have in the last two but fallout short then I'd be happy to start next season with NP in charge. If we throw away the promising position we find ourselves in through negativity and trying the nick draws then I'd be happy to see someone like Warburton have a crack.
The Doctor Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 If he keeps us up it's a definite stay for me, because it'll have meant over a quarter of a season we've played very well and there's hope that he's finally sussed the division. If we go down - 10-12 games, see where we are from there: would be madness to chop a successful championship manager as punishment for this season - the words nose, spite, face come to mind.
ousefox Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 How could you want him sacked if he keeps us up? I can understand it if we go down, though I still wouldn't want it, but sacking a manager who has taken us from League 1 to the Premier League and accomplished the objective of staying up
Gerard Posted 13 April 2015 Posted 13 April 2015 In the unlikely event of us escaping relegation.......................................... Are you aware that the betting markets make four teams more likely to be relegated than us?
