dogadug Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Got given one in the summer didn't he? Reminds me of when we gave GTF a new deal. Sometimes I reckon Pearson gave new deals to his mates sometimes You do post some rubbish. Hammond rightfully had his contract renewed because at that moment we would have had just 2 CM's going into the new season. GTF got a new deal because an appearance clause was triggered which meant he was offered an additional year on his contract. Stop trying to discredit Pearson with every post you make.

IIRC Pearson didn't play matt mills/beckford (one of them) for ages because of payment that would have been due because of a clause in the contract when signing him? My point being if he didn't want to activate that renewal clause for GTF because, like all of us, he believed he wasn't good enough for a premier league side, he wouldn't have made so many appearances towards the end of the season off the bench. I most remember Wigan away and Brighton at home. Appearances without a real need. Going into the new season? He was given it at the end of June you do realise? more than 2 months before the start of the new season? Waste of a space in a 25 man squad, and money, and should have been released.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 He's still our best central midfielder aside from Kante
Stadt Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Our midfield are still quite similar imo, all very industrious and defensively solid but don't offer a brilliant offensive or creative threat. But I suppose whilst playing a 442, the central pivot allow the wide players and strikers to do their shit.
Alexikokopops Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Waste of a space in a 25 man squad, and money, and should have been released. Waste of space in the 25 man squad where we only managed to name 24 players...?
ImBlue Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Waste of space in the 25 man squad where we only managed to name 24 players...? I mean physical space too.. I wouldn't have given him a job of lacing the boots of that squad.

Drinkwater in his current form is quite creative and was making all of the right runs against West Ham, just needs to remember how to shoot. James last year as well was often quite creative too. Kingy's really the only one who at the moment is solid at everything but not really incredible at anything in particular, which works well with one of the other two.

It's not really an issue right now with the creative and goal scoring capabilities of Vardy, Shinji, Riyad and Albrighton but could be an issue long term. Maybe if Inler signs that could change.

Maybe, though in the past two seasons he's scored a total of 3 goals and 2 assists, so not too sure about that. Think Drinkwater and Kanté could be a great partnership if Drinky keeps his form up, and would be annoyed if Inler just walked into the midfield without seeing one of Drinky, King, or Kanté's form drop off massively to accommodate him.
Corky Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Ranieri seems big on not changing too much from last season at this stage so I'd have imagined, if he'd been fit, James would be heavily involved right now. When he's fit he'll play a part.

Ah right I think I was swayed by his YouTube Video
foxes21 Posted 22 December 2015 Posted 22 December 2015 If we keep Inler & possibly sign another CM.. I wouldn't be against James going out on loan and getting some game time, ready for next season. After being out for so long, it would hinder his development by not being able to get into our first 11. He could do a good job on loan for Norwich, Bournemouth or Villa imo
Wilson_6 Posted 31 December 2015 Posted 31 December 2015 Have we had an update on Matty yet? Last i heard was he was playing for the U21's.
foxes21 Posted 31 December 2015 Posted 31 December 2015 Hope he goes on loan to a PL club to get minutes and we sign a better back up cm for dd/kante
