weller54 Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 ...Wonder if he's going to be a Ranieri type player?.. Hope so, but maybe a bit slow?
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 Looks like he's going to lose his place in the match squad with King and Drinkwater playing well and the possibility of Inler coming in. Shouldn't have got himself injured then, I guess.
BoyJones Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 Hope he figures in CR's plans. James has very good technique, soft feet, I think he does have a future here. Time will tell.
EverybodyDannsNow Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 He was ahead of King, Drinkwater and Hammond in the pecking order last year so I'm certain he still has a future here. I'm not saying he will walk into the team but he certainly won't be pushed out the door by Ranieri. Very consistent player, you always know what you're getting from Matty James.
Raw Dykes Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 It might depend on how patient he is willing to be. He might be 5th choice CM soon, but he is good enough to get in the team if he waits for his chance.
lgfualol Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 Yes but will need to battle pretty hard to get on the bench at this rate.
fuchsntf Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 I wish fans would stop, dropping players from our squad, without any sound solid logic. Majority this season wouldnt of given DD another chance..Hes turned it around, Nugents gone, RDL posters cant make up their minds, NOW James is next one off the taxi rank.. 1st no matter who we sign, we need the squad, then its upto the individuals to prove themselves. James, I doubt we will be seeing until after November, if earlier...great. James is a top asset, new signings dont change the fact. Not forgetting he was part of the end run last season, until his injury.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 Matty James was our best CM after Cambiasso, so by logic he is our best CM currently as Kanté or Inler if he signs have not proved themselves to be better than King or Drinky. James has good technique and is a great all-rounder. He will be fine
weller54 Posted 16 August 2015 Author Posted 16 August 2015 Drinky, King, Hammond, Kante, James and Inler.... Looks strong!!
benpicko Posted 16 August 2015 Posted 16 August 2015 Now that Drinkwater's back in form... Partnership back this december hopefully
dylanlegend Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Drinky, King, Hammond, Kante, James and Inler.... Looks strong!! Looks crowded
LCFC FOX Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 He's still got a few months out before he trains again. It depends how he reacts to the injury, an injury like that can ruin players. Let's hope it doesn't him and he finds his best form again
Finnegan Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Looks crowded Not really. Hammond has no future.
Suffolk exile Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Not really. Hammond has no future. This really. The problem is that we need, as fans, to start to think like a bigger club - meaning that we must become a squad team if we want to make that step up from perennial relegation candidates to a team pushing for European places. It only takes a couple of injuries/suspensions in position to make us look less strong - we have to have quality cover in every position.
Stuntman_Mike Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 He's been very unfortunate with his injury as it is, that's without us strengthening whilst he watches from the stands. Must be very frustrating for him. I wouldn't be surprised if he was loaned out as soon as he's recovered to gain match fitness.
Simmsy Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Unfortunate injury but the lad has obviously got talent and a very good attitude. He knows it's going to take a lot of hard work to get back to the same level as he was and even more hard work to get his place in the team back. He won;t be expecting to waltz back in to the team but I have every faith in his ability to return and contribute to our season.
LCCFox96 Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Not really. Hammond has no future. Agree with this, Hammond has done his bit but in January, should James' recovery be on track, I can see him taking Hammond's place in the squad with Hammond going out on loan to run his contract down with some playing time. I doubt Hammond would have the new deal but for James' injury anyway.
Sampson Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Matty James was our best CM after Cambiasso, so by logic he is our best CM currently as Kanté or Inler if he signs have not proved themselves to be better than King or Drinky. James has good technique and is a great all-rounder. He will be fine I thought King was much better than him last season.
Clever Fox Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Hammond will probably be off to Sunderland if NP goes there. He's a good pro and a steady Midfielder.
Christoph Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 He was brilliant last season but I fear how he'll get on after having a pretty big knee injury. Knee and ankle injuries can really screw footballers over.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 He was ahead of King, Drinkwater and Hammond in the pecking order last year so I'm certain he still has a future here. I'm not saying he will walk into the team but he certainly won't be pushed out the door by Ranieri. Very consistent player, you always know what you're getting from Matty James. Yes. I am amazed Hammond is still here, as I doubt he will progress as a player. Presumably he is still under contract.
ImBlue Posted 17 August 2015 Posted 17 August 2015 Yes. I am amazed Hammond is still here, as I doubt he will progress as a player. Presumably he is still under contract. Got given one in the summer didn't he? Reminds me of when we gave GTF a new deal. Sometimes I reckon Pearson gave new deals to his mates sometimes
