Claudio Ranieri: Leicester project can prove as successful as Diego Maradona's Napoli

The owners are very astute and I get the  feeling that in NP's pay off to ensure continued stability at the club there is some sort of limited "restraint of trade" clause that will prevent him taking another job in football management for a period of time to prevent poaching of the back room staff.

Probably and very relevant.

Let's see how long they hang around when NP does get a job. I doubt they can put a period longer than 6 months into any severance agreement.

Obviously they are going to have some loyalty to NP, but I think it is doing them a massive disservice to imply they are just hanging around until Pearson gets another job.

It is safe to assume they know more about Pearson's sacking than anyone else, and if they were truly disgusted by Pearson's treatment I think it would be known, the fact they are seemingly happy to carry on without Pearson could lead one to suspect that they were not in total disagreement to his sacking.

Should Pearson get another job soon, there will be many factors in the future of Shakespeare and Walsh, the club employing Pearson would first need to have vacancies for them, secondly be able to afford them, and thirdly be willing to pay the compensation for poaching them. Then they would have to decide if they want to go, it will almost definitely be a club lower down in the league.

Walsh and Shakespeare are Leicester City employees and should not have this constant questioning of their loyalty by so called "fans".

They already 'sacked' NP didn't they before reversing their decision. That was a man with proven pedigree of keeping teams up and a man who helped them earn over £150m for the club. Then were ruthless in their decision in the summer, that's what I'm basing my thought on. The fact that Ranieri is a good talker isn't going to save him if results go sour.

The fact that Ranieri can handle himself in front of the media will actually be a huge factor in them supporting him. Pearson's inability to keep his emotions in check in the post match press conference is one of the main reasons he has gone. He was sacked and re-instated and then finally sacked due to his own bizarre antics and not our results on the pitch, he is a very good manager and one I am very grateful too, but he didn't know how to play the game.

Anyway this isn't about Pearson, it is about Ranieri, he knows how to play the press, have a bit of fun with them, give them a headline, something to work with, but behind the sensational headline, there is a very sensible comparison about an unfashionable club like Napoli becoming a force in Italy by attracting good players, but that comes with time. We missed out on Aranguiz, but next season with players like Kante and Inler building up our reputation as a club we will attract the next level of players.

Pearson already did, Mahrez! And now he's renewed under Ranieri

Did anyone read the Mercury yesterday, Ranieri was saying how shocked he was at Leicester's infrastructure and the size of the club etc, can somebody post the link.

I take your point but to expect Walsh and shakey to up and leave is ludicrous. they aren't 'wealthy' individuals and shouldn't take a moral stance in objection to pearsons 'treatment' (thus losing their contractual salary). Like I said, when Nigel gets a new job, we will then see how they feel about things and cannot judge till then, unless they speak in public about it.
