les-tah Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Pearson wasnt good last year. He was just great in the last 9 games ha ha
langtonfox Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Only great for 9 games? I thought there were more games in a season than that
SecretPro Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 I'm struggling not to jizz everywhere all of the time every day.
Captain... Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Pearson wasnt good last year. He was just great in the last 9 games ha ha And the first 5, it was when he tried to tinker and make us more solid he destroyed everything that was good about our championship winning side and early season form. No pace, no drive, no width, no attacking intent. The fvcking Diamond still gives me nightmares.
SecretPro Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Worthwhile contibution pro? I think it just shoes we all express our excitement in different ways. Mine tends to involve jizz.
Babylon Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 If Ranieri can't win you over then I'm sorry but you are a balloon head!,He hasn't criticised Ranieri? The bloke talks a great game, his enthusiasm is infectious and everyone loves people saying nice things about the club. Stuff we've known for a while but rarely is reported in the press. The good comments coming back from players and the birch etc is also good to hear, that they seem to like him and think he's bringing something different on the coaching side. There is such a long way to go though so I'm not going to get carried away. We have a great mix at the moment as we still have a core of Pearson signings, we know he was brilliant at creating a unit that had fantastic team spirit. We've kept all the back room staff so we still have familiarity there, whilst adding Ranieri's experience and undoubted better tactical qualities and some exiting quality new signings. The tests come further down the line though for me. What happens when Pearson gets a new job, will the staff follow and will we get in replacements who as as good or better at their job and who are capable of keeping the spirit there. Will future signings follow previous criteria that worked so well under Pearson, quality, but good people who will fit in around the club and again, keep that spirit there. So far I think the players will, they all some like work horses and come over very well. But difficult to know for sure. Recruitment and spirit in the camp as essential for me, both have been fantastic and it's what has set us apart from other teams full of expensive players.... We'll see if we can keep both further down the line.
Viva Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 I think what the start of this season has proved is how crazy some people were after Pearson was sacked. People saying it's the most depressing time ever as a Leicester fan. Even saying they felt worse than when we were in League One or stagnating for years in the bottom end of the Championship. Moaning about the owners being clueless and having done nothing good for us. Moaning that Cambiasso was the best player we have ever had and can't be replaced. People seemed to think we wouldn't sign a replacement for him! Well Inler and Kante have got to prove themselves, but they have obvious potential and are good replacements. The owners have been nothing but superb for us and the decisions they make are in the best interests of the club. You might disagree with some of them, but they are certainly trying to do the best for the club. We could still find ourselves in a relegation battle, who knows, but all I know is that we are in a good state as a club. Far better than most.
stuartn27 Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Mr Pearson is now history How come none of Pearson back room staff left when he got the sack? Which is normally the case
volpeazzurro Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 You really need to get over NP. He was fantastic and did a wonderful job for this club and is well regarded by most. But for what ever reason they sacked him, they had their reasons. What have they done, really? they have invested vast amounts of money into the club giving it the brightest future it has ever had. They have appointed a very successful and well respected new manager, they have spent more on players to give us the best chance of securing our PL future by buying players like, Huth, Okazaki, Fuchs, Inler, Kante etc etc and that is just this year. Paid the debt of the stadium created a strong culture and kept the vast majority, if not all of NP's staff, have a happy and very successful team playing for the club, developed a very strong front office management team. Need I go on. For the decision to let NP go you base you negativity an hate towards the owners is just very immature. We have some of the best owners of any team in the PL. If you don't think so who would you prefer? I for one am happy that they own my team. All of this I agree with very good post. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. We are who we are and will lose games iinevitably but we are slowly moving forward imo and I for one find it exciting times . Can't wait until tomorrow whatever the result and then the next game .
stuartn27 Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 I'm hoping for a mid table plus finish Team looking good and with the new signings just gets better and better Win tomorrow would be amazing
cc_star Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 He is going to prove a lot of the early doubters wrong. Including the professional commentators and many on this forum. We have many posters on her who instantly go to the negative. So far everything the owners have done since NP has worked. Hiring CR could be a master stroke let's now see if he can get our version of maradona to come!! Pearson already did, Mahrez! And now he's renewed under Ranieri
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 Although we have started well, I'm not sure how much is down to Claudio. All 11 players he has picked were signed by Pearson, playing in the style of play that we played in so successfully for the final quarter of last season. The real test will be seeing how his signings bed in to the current framework to see if we truly have improved. What o will say is his positive attitude in press conferences is infectious and he seems a very good man manager. Overall the jury is still out for me, but I am enjoying the continuation of last season.

So when West ham were on top in the second half last week and De Laat was getting a new bum hole by their winger and Raneri brought on Kante, Benouloune and Fuchs last week to stop us being overrun and losing the game that was down to Pearson too was it? Honestly, get over Nigel Pearson and realise what a good tactically astute manager we have. As others have alluded too all of Pearsons backroom staff are still with us. If he gets another job, let's see if they rush to join him. We may all be surprised they may just want to stay at what we are trying to achieve here at our great club.

We'll see if we can keep both further down the line. I'm not too worried about the backroom staff, they have stayed for the transition period and if they did leave in 4-6 months time when Pearson takes over Sunderland, for example, then Ranieri and his guys will have been around them long enough to get how the club works how the players respond to certain training and techniques and how to continue their good work. I think a greater concern is how new signings fit in and keeping the harmony with in the squad, excluding Huth we have brought in Inler, Okazaki, Kante and Benny with potentially more coming and Kramaric still looking to make an impact, keeping the squad happy is going to be important, and a couple of good cup runs will help keep the squad happy and playing, maybe a bit more tinkering and rotation will help, we have the squad to pick teams for the occasion, but do we have the players that can adapt and change quickly come in and do a job then sit out the next few games. The problem is to be competitive we need a squad of 25 very good players to cope with injuries, suspension, fitness, form and give us options if plan A isn't working but we can only play 11 at a time. Interesting times...

The owners are very astute and I get the feeling that in NP's pay off to ensure continued stability at the club there is some sort of limited "restraint of trade" clause that will prevent him taking another job in football management for a period of time to prevent poaching of the back room staff.
Dan Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 I like his ambition but likening those four players to Maradona's impact at Napoli is bordering on Sven's Howard/Vieri comment. Unless I've misread it

Guest seanfox778 Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 We should just put a stupid £120mil bid in for Messi or Ronaldo. Obviously they won't come but the headlines would be funny.
pazzerfox Posted 21 August 2015 Posted 21 August 2015 I prefer him to Sven already. Seems to know exactly what he wants and what is asked of him, and have more tactical nous.

Substituting a player who is struggling is stretching the meaning of 'tactically astute.' I'm fairly sure when we beat West Brom away last season Pearson hauled De Laet off to bring on Wasyl as we were struggling with their physical threat, is that a tactically genius move too? I am more than 'over' Pearson in terms of accepting he isn't our manager, but at the minute this is still his team playing in his style. It is intelligent by Claudio in not changing too much too quickly in style. It will only be when he implements his style and his players will we get a good indication as to our prospects. Ofcourse the backroom staff have stayed, when it is a choice of being unemployed or staying in a job its a pretty simple decision. I hope they stay when Pearson gets another job, but I'm not so sure especially Shakespeare and Walsh.

Before that we were anything from exciting for months and had many dour matches. Also we played with 3 centre backs in those 9 matches, so he has changed the formation and brought his own ideas in, especially on how to close out a match.
