  • Firstly, thanks to you Stuliasz for doing these polls after every match. Happy New Year to you, and all Foxes fans.

Ranieri - 8- Thought he got the tactics mostly right. The only point I would make is that it seemed like he was afraid of Man City instead of concentrating on our positives.

Schmeichel -8- Thought he was excellent. Made some good saves, kept a clean sheet and showed his usual spirit and passion.

Simpson -8- I thought he also had an excellent match, like all our defenders.

Morgan -8- Another storming match.

Huth -8- Must watch himself, but as solid as a rock again.

Fuchs -8- Wish he'd scored from that late free kick. Also put in an excellent cross which Albrighton should have done better with. Such a high class player.

Mahrez -7- Nice touches in parts, but Man City did their best to keep him quiet.

Drinkwater -7.5- So good to see him back. So much better than King and works so well with Kante.

Inler -6.5- The guy has obvious class, but is often caught out.

Kanté -9- My MOTM again. He is awesome.

Albrighton - 6.5- Ran and ran. Worked so hard, but not a lot came off for him. Shame he didn't get a touch on Fuch's excellent cross.

Vardy -6.5- Missed our best chance, but no doubt the Man City defenders were terrified of him.

Subs:

De Laet n/a Not on for long enough.

King -6- Didn't notice much he did.

Ulloa -6- Thought he should have started. I'm sure a run of games in the side would help his touch and sharpness.

Officials -5- Too many incorrect decisions and should have booked at least 3 Man City players.

Manchester City -6- Dangerous at times, but terrible crosses, silly dives and play acting let them down. We had nothing to fear from them and I felt we respected them too much. Booke-

  • Schmeichel 8 (Was always going to tested and gave a sound, confident display with a clean sheet the just reward for some decent saves and all his encouragement as well).

Simpson 8 (Rarely exposed against excellent opposition who often seemed to have a man over down the left but still found Simpson pretty solid but disciplined with it).

Morgan 10 (Couldn't fault his positioning or commanding presence at all and especially in dealing with more than enough crosses and free-kicks. As against others in recent weeks he seemed so in control).

Huth 8 (Such a presence in this kind of game - and never bullied by anyone).

Fuchs 8 (We should have had someone on the end of his low cross but I'm not sure we ever really tried to commit the numbers necessary. Defensively though he was typically controlled and always prepared to slow his opponent until help arrived allowing him to finish his cleaning up.

Mahrez 7 (Had one very good run and shot which was touched over and another half chance but was generally soundly shackled and never helped by having so little attacking support as was our prblem against Spurs when he did score from the once chance he got that I recall)

Drinkwater (Okay return but never incisive. Still didn't offer any kind of goal threat even with a reinforced central midfield. Not even comparable with King. They are totally different players suited to totally different kinds of team).

Inler  5.75 (Unnecessary risk of conceding a soft but still legitimate penalty, some schoolboy errors I've already mentioned more than enough but played his part in defending the back four and breaking up a useful but never fully committed Manchester attack. Some signs of encouragement but still too slow and risky with his distribution).

Kanté 9 (No praise is sufficient for the guy. He's just like a 95-minute wind-up toy. Never stops til the watch winds down and so many skills he's an example to everyone around him.

Albrighton 6.5 (Never stops trying but couldn't find the right final pass with limited options and o nce again was never able to pose a worthwhile goal threat). .

Vardy 6 (Made and missed what looked a fairly easy chance and one he should surely have put on target. Caused some unease but was never at his best again, because there was never any sustained support. As in the past on occasions we seem to have strengthened our defence to the cost of our attack. Maybe that was inevitable on Tuesday but it's been apparent for a while now. t

Subs:

Not really relevent because I didn't see anything significant from any of them.

Agree with the majority of the above ...especially the comment about DD,he never ever looks like scoring a goal !

thought the Mahrez   pass to Albrighton was sublime

Morgan motm just ahead of Kasper

Drinkwater really wasn't that bad but because we weren't on the front foot he had to do a lot of defending and he did it well

Kante, Morgan & Huth were excellent as was Ranieri's tactics, Fuchs & Simpson steady today, Vardy, Mahrez & Albrighton looked knackered, Drinky & Inler didn't look good together, the subs didn't have a lot to do but try & close the game down and Kasper was in great form......

Up the City....

Kasper 7 Good saves and some almost pinpoint distribution than almost saw Vardy through on goal

Simpson 7 Don't remember him being exposed at all, solid game

Huth 8 Best game in a while. Excellent

Morgan 9 MOTM again

Fuchs 8 Very good again and a sublime cross that deserved a goal

Albrighton 6 Worked hard again

Drinkwater 6 Nice to see him back. Solid but a little overrun in the middle

Inler 4 He's not got the speed of thought or play to be in the side. Slow and almost dreamlike in posession, often caught out and clumsy in distribution

Kante 9 What an athlete. Superb

Mahrez 7 Some lovely runs but had so much to do every time he got the ball

Vardy 7 Didn't look himself . Unlucky with his 1 on 1 as he was stretching

Ulloa 6 Clumsy but we looked better with the extra man up front on

Imagine how good we'd be if we could find a top class strike partner for Vardy in Jan?

Morgan was my MOTM for this one, sensational again. In fact I thought the whole defence had one of their best games in my opinion. Wes and Huth looking solid, and Fuchs & Simpson doing a great job at fullbacks.

KS - Solid. Great save from Sterling's snap shot.

DS - Decent enough defending but his distribution was the worst of a bad bunch on the night.
WM - 10 Colossal. Won everything. Absolute perfection. Didn't put a foot wrong all game. Proving me wrong this season.
RH -Often calm under pressure and was solid without being as outstanding as Wesley.
CF - Did some good things and others bad. Similar game to Simpson but slightly better in possession.

RM - Didn't get involved as much as we'd all like, but worked hard to track back and showed the odd touch of brilliance.
DD - Good to see him back. Was the architect of some very nice football but equally lost the ball a lot as well. Felt like the 3 in the middle made it all a bit tight which made any passing difficult.
GI - Broke up some dangerous attacks but wanted far too long on the ball.
NK - Just your typical rash performance. The man is a freak.
MA - Tried. Not much came off. Should have scored.

JV - See Albrighton. Struggled on his own.

Subs - N/A
CR - I like that he went 5 in midfield. City went 442 to try to match us and we kept them guessing by changing formation, which I thought was clever. We stopped them playing which ultimately won us the point. Would have been nice to have seen more attacking intent but it's difficult to achieve both.
Man City - Meh. Showed some threat but nothing like in previous years where you expected a goal every time they attacked.
Officials - Not as bad as people made out on the night, but not good either.

People giving Inler 4's and 5's and Drinky a 7 lol

Drinky wasn't great (i know some see him as closer to God than  the Angel Gabriel) but I didn't see him give what might easily have been a penalty away, a careless almost intercepted short pass across the edge of his own penalty area, getting caught trying to dribble out of deepest defence - in other words a series of things that might have cost us dearly.

Entirely agree about the Drinky mark though - 4 Inler and 5 Drinky would have been more understandable.
