stevelcfc Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 But can they find Leicester on a map? The square in London is probably as near as they get. You'd be amazed at how many people at uni ask where I'm from and they think Leicester is that bit of pavement in London.
m4DD0gg Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 Who cares more revenue, look how the mega rich clubs dominate the asian markets and have a revenue that is staggering from this.
JonesLCFC Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 Quite apart from our position at or around the top of the table this season our games have been so exciting. Yes, last night's was a different kind of excitement to some of the others but a real tussle between two teams equally determined to win. For me it was utterly enthralling. Our status has changed dramatically this season. Not only have people learned our names and enjoyed watching us but here's a real respect among football people too. Not too long ago people might have pencilled in Leicester City as one of their better chances to win points. Now they see them as more like Stoke - damned difficult opponents in all sorts of ways. See us as a Stoke? Christ give us some credit. We're currently miles better than any Stoke team to play in the Premier League era.
MPH Posted 14 January 2016 Posted 14 January 2016 But can they find Leicester on a map? The square in London is probably as near as they get. They Probably could as i think there are at least 3 cities in 3 different states called Leicester.
enmac Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 American fans ask me how long I've been supporting Leicester now, versus the "what's that club?" I got even last year or two years ago. Been called a glory hunter ffs! hahahaSpent a lot of time in the US- few years ago now. The only Yank I met, who'd ever heard of Leicester was a guy who remembered seeing it on a road sign! Most people would ask how far it was from London?100 miles? Well that's still London then! MadKaw Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Over 20 years of wearing Leicester jerseys around Sydney and rarely a comment, now its rarely a day without someone commenting.. Most good, some times not but at least they know who we are. Had a good chat to a fella working in a shop the other day who yelled "go the foxes" at me as I walked past.. Always like it when they say, they "chose" to support Leicester when they got into the EPL and I tell them I had no choice, I was born there... :-) Great times.!
AyewJoking Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Very similar here in Hong Kong. I coach football to a few hundred kids here, and they all are suddenly asking if there team name can be Leicester and if they can be vardy or Mahrez. Previously last few years the class have always should Leicester are rubbish, a great change ! Good thing you're coaching football and not teaching them English.
Matt Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Honestly not insecure enough to give a ****. Surely any club wants more fans? As long as I can still get a ticket I'm not really fussed who wants to wear a city shirt. This!! Not really too bothered. I wanna see the club progress, become bigger, compete at the top and that goes hand in hand with a bigger fanbase, catch 22 really. It's like when people moan we aren't getting enough credit, I can agree to some extent but at the same time I quite like 'going under the rader', going about business quietly, proving people wrong. I'm not gonna bleat on too much more but the trouble i've had with Arsenal tickets, when I know first hand glory hunters who have jumped on the bandwagon and got tickets is concerning for me.
Allfoxedup Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 My two boys play junior football for a village team here in Hertfordshire. My boys have always worn city shirts to training sessions. First session after Xmas, a local lad turns up with 'vardy' shirt. Looks like we are inspiring a new generation away from Leicestershire.
