Matched Betting (Turning Free Bets into Money)

Recommended Posts

Question before I end up doing this: how much money do I need to put in to begin with? I looked at the Save A Student matched betting calculator a few months ago and it seemed as though I needed to put quite a bit of money into both the betting site and Betfair just to get started

Profit accumulator website is great it does tell you about re load offers as well.

Regarding the best ones to do the PA website even tells you what order to do them in. There are bingo, casino and a forum that about 5000 people post in that is decent. It is a bit slow at the minute not many offers but with Royal ascot and the euros coming up there will be money made

For an exchange I would recommend smarkets they charge 2% rather than the usual 5% biggest tip ever don't get greedy if the profit is only a few quid its profit just do more bets lock in profit before you start to take the odd risk

Yeah I'm on smarkets already, I've worked out its about £8 profit per £10 free bet. So not massive but like you say it soon adds up. Having a spreadsheet to record everything really helps too!

Yeah 8 is a good return. Definitely keep a spreadsheet!

Used some of my free bets up. Chelsea win Draw. and Brighton win and draw. Now watch it be the one I left out.

Kane and Costa to score is 7/1 Don't seem bad.a price.

If you sign up to the online betting school on the website that the original offer was on - they go through how to match bet properly, as the idea is you cover all eventualities and still win. Its £4.99 a month but free for the first month.

I started on Friday and have signed up for 12 deals so far and have made £350. My aim is to complete all the best intro offers within the free month, then sign up to something more detailed like profit accumulator.

Think I am ready to draw  out my winnings and pack in. Had two singles  and a double come good. Sweating a bit waiting for the Real Madrid Man city result  1-0. I expexted an equaliser in the 94th minute. And the one yesterday Athelico missed a penalty otherwise that would have lost.

Only won about 30 for 20 but its a profit. My other two accounts I am only up 20 oe so in one and a tennner in the other. More losing bets. I do not have the patience for studying and using spreadsheets.

You're not actually doing matched betting then?

matched betting means the outcome of the event you are betting on is irrelevant, all outcomes are covered so if you are watching live scores and sweating over it, you are doing something very wrong/different.

Made £20k plus matched betting/advantage play over the years but only ever do it when Cheltenham Festival comes around these days.

If you think its good now it was a comparative gold mine 5+ years ago. Could get £200 free bets with most of the big bookies alongside huge casino bonuses.

Would recommend beginners look at the moneysavingexpert forum on Matched Betting.

With the euros coming this summer, might get some good offers again. Sporting Index spreadbetting have done some crazy offers at major tournaments before where you could clear £500-600 through them alone.

Nice work!

The Euros should bring us some nice treats I reckon :)

Are the offers not just for first time customers though? Not been on for a week or so. I do not have the time to do it every day and not looking to make millions (although I would not refuse it if offered) I just want a little extra for those little extras in life.

I have had emails from the three bookies I am signed up for offering deals like casino but you have to make a deposit. One was poker which I have considered but if I lose the free part then I am using my own money to gamble.

That is where they recover what they 'give away'

This is a list of the current sign up offers, there are about 40 offers available worth £1,500. Just work your way down through that list.

Once you have done all, or most of those then you will need to look at other things, like the horse race offers and casino/bingo offers.

My email inbox  will be huge if I go through them all. I am making a profit ATM, not  a big one but worth withdrawing. I will look at the list later. Could take quite a while to go through them but I am in no hurry.

You can just make a new email account for future bookie sign ups if you like, that's what I have done and keeps me organised.

I am using an Outlook one which is not used much but I may add one to it. If I have had a bet last night I would have had both Sunderland and Norwich to win. Thought about backing City on Sunday but that'll jinx it.

Just started looking into this and once you get your head around it then it become relatively straightforward, I'll have made around £35 once the bets settle from two offers and it took around 25 minutes to do everything!

Might just spend 10-15 minutes a day doing it, if I could make £40 a week from it I'll be happy as it will all go back into my savings!

forgot about this. Keep getting offers from the three I signed up for. So if I pick 3 in the list and pick a match or other bet and do win loss I will make a profit? But this is only if I make another bet using what I have deposited.

Don't mind doing it but all I'd want is once or twice a week certs.

It was a lot of trouble last time as I was in the process of renewing a lost bank card and it took a while to register.

I have some offers for casino bets and one was poker which I could use for freerolls after completing it.

From what I've learnt today matched betting is basically taking advantage of the free bets that bookies give for signing up to guarantee profit, for example:

Coral give £20 in free bets when you deposit and stake £5 of your own money, so your aim is to get access to those free bets without losing anything, to do this you stake your £5 on say England and lay the same bet on an exchange (betfair/smarkets) the result of the England game doesn't really matter because now you can access the £20 free bets.

Once you have the free bets you back and lay a team again but because you have used a free bet for the backing side you can guarantee profits, there are calculators that will tell you exactly what you need to stake for each bet so once you grasp the concept it isn't actually too difficult!

The profit is usually small amounts from £5-£20 (some offers you can make more) but it all adds up.

I've spent about 45 minutes today learning and betting and I've made about £54 profit, i understand that as bookie sign up offers get fewer the amount of quick profit will be less but it's an easy way to make a little extra money nonetheless!
