z-layrex Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 They have a new world-leading polytrauma hospital on-site.
SemperEadem Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 They've ****ed up Air which was the best thing about it. What have they done to it?
TiffToff88 Posted 8 June 2016 Author Posted 8 June 2016 I can confirm that the new Air/Galactica rebranded ride is cool, but pretty trippy, and sort of pointless because the virtual reality makes you kind of lose the sensation that you're actually on a rollercoaster so they could have probably just kept Air as it was and made Galactica in a 4D theatre. Galactica was also the only ride i had to queue more than 10 minutes for (about an hour - and that's only because it broke down twice while i was waiting) The rollercoaster restaurant is a pretty strange, yet enjoyable experience. Good food but fairly overpriced so i probably won't bother with it next time, now that i've tried it once. On a side note, i wore a Leicester City shirt and at one point, a group of people (Not sure exactly what country they were from, but definitely South East Asian) approached me and said "Ah, Leicester City Jamie Vardy Riyad Mahrez!" and asked for a photograph with me. I was tempted to tell them it would be £15 to have it put on a keyring...
kingcarr21 Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Cant wait to go back. The Smiler was the best roller coaster i've ever been on. Love Thorpe Park for Stealth but not been on the swarm yet. Need to get myself down there. Air was shit so hopefully its better with the VR now.
whoareyaaa Posted 8 June 2016 Posted 8 June 2016 Went to two theme parks in Florida last year universal and the one next to it, can't see me going Alton towers ever again, some of the rides where great and there was a huge storm at the end of each day, awesome!

Islands of Adventure Took the kids to Orlando last August and we're going back again this August. Let's face it, the yanks do theme parks so much bigger and better than us and Alton Towers is a little bit shit in comparison....
