TiffToff88 Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 I'm going to Alton Towers on tuesday, i tend to go once a year and was wondering if anyone has been recently? Whats the Rollercoaster Restaurant like? and has the virtual reality improved Air much?
Fox92 Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Coincidently, its exactly a year today. Wow that seems to have gone well fast.
TiffToff88 Posted 2 June 2016 Author Posted 2 June 2016 i'm actually looking forward to going on the smiler. accidents happen... Side Note: I'm already disabled so whats the worst that can happen anyway?!?!
CockneyFox Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 They've closed a whole bunch of rides - The flume, Ripsaw, Hex - for cost cutting maintenance reasons, though they are building a replacement on the flume site Think attendance figures are well down on recent years so prolly a good time to be going
Fox92 Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 I haven't been for about 11 years now, as I'm not a fan of rollercoaster's but The Haunted House used to be real good (like my favourite thing there) but I think they've ruined it now by adding a load of interactive shite.
goose2010 Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 They've ****ed up Air which was the best thing about it. Totally agree, was the best ride there no need to change it! Went to Thorpe Park for the weekend 2 weeks ago was brilliant so much better than Alton Towers! The Swarm is the best rollercoaster I have ever been on!
Wymsey Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Some say Galactica is a 'new riding experience that is different to others'. Haven't been in a couple of years. Got annoying when some eat beforehand and puke here and there.

The door man didn't want the whole box of Frosties!
Larry_LCFC Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 Closed way too much this season with nothing set to replace them for several years. The place has gone to rat shit. The prices have still gone up. Extortion at its finest.
jonthefox Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 I really liked Galactica. A bit unhygienic with those masks though.
SystonFox Posted 2 June 2016 Posted 2 June 2016 ****ing closing the flume you ****ing mad like? Nutters
Guest Mee-9 Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Put, BrummieFOX quipped... 'someone you'd have sex with?' 'Alright BrummieFOX don't get coarse, in a magazine for the public. I don't think you'll win a Pulitzer for filth...'
Legend_in_blue Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Twenty years later, the best ride for me is still Nemesis. Remember queueing over 3 hours for it when it first opened. Last time I went, no queues, went on it twice in succession. Not surprised the flume is down, it was leaking water all over the place 4 years ago when I last went. It's poor anyway, the best flume is at Drayton, guaranteed a soaking there.
Guest Col city fan Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 After last year I'm not looking to hurry back to Alton Towers. I reckon it's going to take a long time to get visiting figures back up to anywhere near where they were before.
RonnieTodger Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 Yeah I thought Galactica was great. It was pissing it down which made it weirder and better. I don't think you have to wear those goggle things either, so it's up to you if you wanna see the park or the nice space virtual reality.
AKCJ Posted 3 June 2016 Posted 3 June 2016 If you're after theme parks then Europa Park in Germany is the absolute dogs bollocks.
m4DD0gg Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Busch gardens and island of adventure in florida No comparison
