Raj Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 It does deserve its own thread. Legend is a word used sometimes too often for mediocrity. Muhammad Ali was a legend,an icon and the greatest sportsman ever. Changed the way sport was portrayed and the original 'lip'. RIP
Kitchandro Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Rest in peace Muhammad Ali Staying up to watch your fights was a great honour Such a gent and a true Legend Let's not rewrite history here.
Fox92 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Not a boxing fan but understand how good he was. And here's an all time favourite of mine... RIP
BoneDog Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Whenever I heard him talk his winning personality shone through and seemed like he could make anybody he met smile with ease. One of the brightest souls that I know of to have graced this earth. The light is strong on this one.
Raj Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 To think he lost 3 years of his best fighting years to stand up for his beliefs in not fighting in Vietnam amd getting banned by the WBC. 3 of his 5 losses he won in returns andvtgr other 2 he was well passed his prime and it was his entourage of hanger ons who convinced him to carry on for the dollars. Now when fighters do all the talk you just think" you ain't no Ali,!!!" Unique.
Drygon Posted 5 June 2016 Posted 5 June 2016 Muhammed Ali was a good boxer and did a lot of nice things outside the ring. Shame that he was a huge dickhead towards Joe Frazier...
Raj Posted 6 June 2016 Posted 6 June 2016 Muhammed Ali was a good boxer and did a lot of nice things outside the ring. Shame that he was a huge dickhead towards Joe Frazier... He didn't like what Joe stood for and regarded him a traitor for how Joe was.Likewise Joe didn't like Ali for not fighting in Vietnam and thought he hid behind his religion. To call Ali a Dickhead is abit OTT. Remember Ali took no prisoners when it came to what he believed was right. There was a boxer who refused to call Ali by his name, and kept calling him Cassius.... Ali punished him round after round and baited him throughout when he COULD easily have KO'd him...
