Thracian Posted 10 June 2016 Posted 10 June 2016 http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Police-search-girl-15/story-29381394-detail/story.html The story takes economy of information to a new level but I just hope and pray that the mistakes already made are not compounded and that she's quickly found safe and well.
Rincewind Posted 10 June 2016 Posted 10 June 2016 I find it strange no parents are mentioned 'showing concern' 'appealing for help' They of course could have been too upset to speak but I believe the police would encourage them to make a statement. Lets hope she is found soon.
Wymsey Posted 10 June 2016 Posted 10 June 2016 There's been quite a few her age missing but found a day or so later. You could say she should've been more cautious at the time, but perhaps too young to understand. Let's hope she's got her mobile on her and has the strong courage to ring family/police.

Lets hope she is found soon. Various parties will have a fair idea about the basics of what's believed to have happened, as loosely touched on in the report. I just hope their connected actions haven't served to exacerbate the situation. Sadly, various factors can combine to create a potentially bigger problem rather than the solution to a smaller one and, right now, it will be a massive worry for everyone concerned.

"Caution" should have been paramount and that will make everyone uneasy.
Rincewind Posted 10 June 2016 Posted 10 June 2016 Not one to pray but hoping the emergency services find her.
Thracian Posted 12 June 2016 Author Posted 12 June 2016 Found locally and said to be safe, so I was told.
AyewJoking Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Found locally and said to be safe, so I was told. hope so. on that note, if she went missing the afternoon before, why were the police involved? is it 24 hours before you can file a missing persons claim (if thats what its called )
Rincewind Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Would it be different because of her age? Think you can still report it though if it is unusual or if a person has health or mental issues.
AyewJoking Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 report anything you want but wouldnt they just say they cant do anything til x amount of hours. i think if the person was 15 they may treat it less seriously as someone that age is probably more likely to go missing for a day or two?
Thracian Posted 13 June 2016 Author Posted 13 June 2016 There would have been serious concerns from the start for various reasons...and a lot of questions raised.
DB11 Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 hope so. on that note, if she went missing the afternoon before, why were the police involved? is it 24 hours before you can file a missing persons claim (if thats what its called ) No you can be reported missing any time. You think if your 2 year old toddler went missing you'd have to wait 24 hours?
Rincewind Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 With teenagers they would expect you to contact friends first. Maybe even younger and sometimes older people. That is assuming your kids are willing to give you contact details. 'You only want to know so you can spy on me.;
AyewJoking Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 No you can be reported missing any time. You think if your 2 year old toddler went missing you'd have to wait 24 hours? yeah you can report but when would they actively start searching? Even if your toddler went missing theyd probably just note it down and tell any officers in the area to keep an eye out. Probs advize you on where to check for yourself.

Common misconception - you report it as soon as you are aware / have concerns and the police will judge what to do on its merits / any evidence they can gather (like what they were last known doing, last contact, whether they took anything with them).
Thracian Posted 13 June 2016 Author Posted 13 June 2016 I'd imagine they moved pretty quickly on this one - but am just glad she's safe!
lifted*fox Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Missing girl Taylar Hutchins, 15, may be a man, police believe Saw her photo and misread the headline as above... Good news if she's found.
