spirefox Posted 24 September 2005 Posted 24 September 2005 Please don't be so pathetic. We are all gutted but this crap will do no good at all.
cisono Posted 24 September 2005 Posted 24 September 2005 I refuse to vote. It's not time yet!!! In fact, can we possibly remove this depressing poll?
Northants Fox Posted 24 September 2005 Posted 24 September 2005 NO!! I really don't think there's many out there that could do better, i really don't
lookwhaticando Posted 24 September 2005 Posted 24 September 2005 There aren't many who genuinely think he should go - I'm sure the vote results will prove that.
TornadoShaunUK Posted 24 September 2005 Posted 24 September 2005 you are going to get an overwhelming no here.. things maybe bad but they are not that bad.. come on man.. we are only 2 or 3 points behind Derby. It just pains me to see us looking like a distinctly less than average championship side...
FNQ Posted 24 September 2005 Author Posted 24 September 2005 too early IMO not yet. I refuse to vote. It's not time yet!!! You all sound like it's inevitable! Shouldn't we just get it over with and try to move on?
Anish Posted 24 September 2005 Posted 24 September 2005 I've voted no. But - I for one didn't fall into this whole "Levein is a messiah" thing (that many people here did) when he joined us. Yes he talks the talk but football is a results business. It doesn't matter how well you speak, at the end your points on the table will do the talking. I for one am far from impressed with many aspects of Levein's management - most worrying of which is our pathetic defending and attacking of set pieces. And alarmingly Levein has also got the Micky Adams virus of picking his favourites and sticking with them no matter how poor they play - De Vries, Kisnorbo (from the looks of things), Tiatto, Maybury etc don't look like they'll ever get dropped. And furthermore, I cannot stand players being played out of position (Hughes is not a left midfielder ffs). That is not to mention our defensive tactics and our poor goalscoring record. That said, Levein's not even been here a year yet (ok, not long left I admit). I will give him until the end of the season at least to make progress with this squad. If results don't improve by the end of the season and we finish 15th or below again then there should be serious questions raised. Until then I would keep him here.
freund Posted 24 September 2005 Posted 24 September 2005 oh yeh, give him a couple more seasons, i'm sure we'll be pushing for the playoffs by then
cisono Posted 24 September 2005 Posted 24 September 2005 Shouldn't we just get it over with and try to move on? I hate this expression...

Coaching standards have been questioned for several weeks and I cannot see any tangible improvements. Free kicks today were utterly pathetic - there must have been four in succession into the goalkeepers hands - and how many resulted in a strike on goal (not many that I can recall). The lower, faster corners had no effect because no-one came short and no-one attacked the near post (by that I mean the space 0-10 metres between goal and corner flag and no-one rallied the troops from the technical area in the first half and so on (I can understand why CL viewed from the stand to get a better picture but he still needs a colleague to keep everyone on their toes as the QPR guy was doing with passion). You could write a book (literally) on the shortcomings of this team that require coaching input but what progress has been made? BY contrast it was obvious QPR were well drilled in a few things, their opening goal being a particularly well-worked set piece. I don't think I have ever seen a professional team so inept, so unimaginative, so ineffective as Leicester in the important areas of corners and free-kicks. If I were Levein I would start putting it right tomorrow. Does anyone have on record: a) How many goals we have scored as a result of corners this season?. b) How many goals we've scored as a result of free kicks this season?. c) How many goals we've conceded from corners/free kicks combined this season? We really need an inspirational coach and an inspirational motivator (even if they are simply added to the existing staff)

For me, we haven't improved our football since CL came along. Yes he's lowered the age of the squad and the wage bill but if things don't improve, all it will count for is that we'll have younger shit playing for us for three years rather than the one year contracts dished out by MA. I really really want us to succeed under CL but I'm struggling to believe it's going to happen. 6 wins in 27 is not a good record. I voted no. Let's review things at the end of the season and measure how far we've come.
Sam Posted 24 September 2005 Posted 24 September 2005 No-one else has come forward and said yes yet although there are some votes for him to be out, 1 of those votes is mine as I think he's had mor than enough time to get his players in and has had a reasonable budget. What was it 300k for gilbert who's been awful. Some of his purchases have been ok such as De Vries who I'm a big fan of although no-one else is really, Hughes is outstanding a class above the rest in his position the point has already been raised about him being out of position, Maybury has been good although he fully deserved his red card as that challenge was shocking. But some of his purchases have been awful people like Mccarthy who gets a yellow every game and does show a desire to win but should never be in this division as he's simply not good enough, Douglas has looked ok but doesn't seem to inspire confidence throughout the team, Sylla gives up after 20 minutes. Hammond still raises questions in my mind but I'm still not sure on him, Gerrbrand and Hammill I've not seen play yet. Leveins tactical sense is atrocious, why play a small striker in Hume against huge defenders like Santos and Shittu, he plays players out of position and still he's yet to realise that having every player back for corners does not and will not ever work. In my opinion I think that if more results don't go our way in the next 5 games then he should be sacked but I don't think the board will be brave enough to do so. He's had 12 months almost to get himself aquainted with the club, get his players in, get rid of the crap Adams had brought in and yet we're not getting results. I think Adams was appalling but his team of pensioners did get us into the premiership and Leveins team look as if they'll be lucy to scrape a top half finish and should possibly be aiming to secure safety. Questions will possibly be raised but this is just my view.
Suffolk_fox Posted 24 September 2005 Posted 24 September 2005 I haven't voted, and I don't think I will. The shit state the team was in under MA will take ages to sort out. Say, why not sack the Mayor of New Orleans if the place isn't sorted by the end of the year? Fact 1 - It is too early to evaluate CL. Fact 2 - There is no one else around - unless you know better?
Cobbo Posted 25 September 2005 Posted 25 September 2005 No. Give him this season and more. Chopping and changing does no good at all. Just get another manager in and hope for a quick fix, not get it and then get rid. Great, stay as good old crappy Leicester. Give CL the chance to build something here, it's going to take time and there will be moments where it's no pretty at all but it will improve. Patience is a key thing when a club is going through a transitional period.
Hullfox Posted 25 September 2005 Posted 25 September 2005 there will be moments where it's no pretty at all but it will improve. Couldn't help but read that in a Scottish accent Cobbo.
BAFox Posted 25 September 2005 Posted 25 September 2005 No, not yet, lets support instead of creating more disruption. and who would replace him anyway ???????
DON Posted 25 September 2005 Posted 25 September 2005 too early IMO Hearts are doing well now they got rid of levein, people say give him time here but Burley has done well in a far shorter time than Levein has had,all we have got are Hearts rejects.Hearts must be glad they got rid of all the deadwood, they have all come here
step Posted 25 September 2005 Posted 25 September 2005 Hearts are doing well now they got rid of levein, people say give him time here but Burley has done well in a far shorter time than Levein has had,all we have got are Hearts rejects.Hearts must be glad they got rid of all the deadwood, they have all come here Hearts are doing well cos they have a sugar daddy, Hearts rejects, How can he afford any thing more. Do you realy think CL is in an ideal situation at city So who would you replace CL with. What players would he buy Where would the money come from. CL has done a brilliant job with no money why dont you start doing the same ny growing up and start supporting city
AyewJoking Posted 25 September 2005 Posted 25 September 2005 Come off it, Levein has it tough but he cant even get the team playing basic football.
The People's Hero Posted 25 September 2005 Posted 25 September 2005 I've written the headline for when he walks already. Levein Leavin' Of course he won't work because in his words, after every soulless display and defeat, 'everything is okay' and he's still picking up his pay cheque. It's a job to him, but its our club which is languishing at the bottom of English football's second tier.
