Kitchandro Posted 28 August 2016 Author Posted 28 August 2016 This isn't about what Swansea didn't sell or the rain. I'm talking a couple of large blocks quite a way up the west stand where the rain wouldn't be hitting. It's certainly not for a lack of demand, I know at least 10 people who wouldn't have gone yesterday who would have liked to and I don't know many people. I can't remember the last time I saw that many empty seats for a game at this level. It wasn't like West Brom who I'm watching now but it was noticeable that the ground wasn't full for once. In fact I've barely seen any empty seats at all for a home game since we were promoted. Certainly not blocks of about 15 seats. So it can only really be down to a few things: Extortionate prices Reserved for corporate Tickets being given out to employees who aren't real fans and can't be bothered to go Poor marketing from the club (If there were tickets on general sale I didn't know and I'm on this forum everyday whilst my sister and Dad are always reading the mercury online). Whatever the reason it reflects poorly on our fan base and is disappointing for those who wanted to go but couldn't.
ozleicester Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 We stayed at the Holiday Inn before the Chelsea game last year. Nowhere near those prices ( i think it was about 50 quid for the night)
red5 Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 I bought 3 tickets Friday evening @ £35 each adults, in the east stand returns.

Not the only club to have a poor away following, have a look at what Fulham and to some extent Reading used to take on the road in the Premier league.
majaco Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 I was by the empty seats. The rain was not a factor. The empty seats sang as loudly as most of the other seats in the area.

Plenty of empty seats even before the rain, the Swansea section including segregation must've had 2k seats that weren't even half full. Thats 800 under capacity 800 empty seats although we are always 300 to 5oo under even with a full house I have never known why as always assumed season ticket holders were included regardless whether they attended or not but probablly wrong
thybluefox Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 I'm not sure if it's the seats you're referring to but the block usually taken up by the away club was completely empty. Swansea didn't seem to bring any staff or VIPs at all.
sly1 Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Funny with the rain Saturday someone in front of us in the west stand decided to put is umbrella up .what was so funny it was a ARSENAL brolly omg.He did get some stick lol..
foxoffderby Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 They were corporate seats for people wanting meals etc in the great hall. Swansea didn't bring a lot and the club didn't shift enough to the tourists.

Not exactly, if yopu're like me a "billy no mates" and want a single room, the cost shoots up to £248.00. The £199.00 is per person with a 2 person twin room. For 1 person..... Holiday Inn Leicester 129 St Nicholas Circle Leicester LE1 5LX Board Basis: Bed & Breakfast £248.00pp Cost: £248.00 including Ticket + 1 night For 2 people... Holiday Inn Leicester 129 St Nicholas Circle Leicester LE1 5LX Board Basis: Bed & Breakfast £199.00pp Cost: £398.00 including Ticket + 1 night I wouldn't be able to justify another 50 notes as a single, are there any ticket outlets for non ST holder without a package attached? I'm thinking the Middlesborough game as the least attractive and maybe a seat could be obtained.

Really only need a ticket to the game as Norwich is "just up the road" on the A47
