Blizzard Posted 26 September 2016 Posted 26 September 2016 Forget thinking we are going to win away from home against the 'big' clubs. It just isn't going to happen this season, they've got us sussed. Its obvious Ranieri is mixing it up and focusing on the Champions league. That's what I would be doing. Anyone mentioning relegation at this stage needs to think before they start typing. A repeat of last season will probably never happen.

We have to have the belief that we can beat anyone in the league so I disagree with the first sentence. We can't give up before the games have even started. 2. No one is expecting a repeat of last season. Fans who do expect this will be severely disappointed.
Blizzard Posted 26 September 2016 Author Posted 26 September 2016 Good points, but I think we have to make the KP a fortress. I think that is where we can get our best results, hopefully. I am not sure belief is good enough, you have to have some ability, and away from home it simply isn't there at the moment.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 26 September 2016 Posted 26 September 2016 Think we should focus on keeping on winning at home rather than worry about aways. If we don't win at home and keep losing away we will be sucked into a relegation scrap like it or not. In any case, too much is being made of this away form, we won 3-0 at Brugge and we've played Utd and Liverpool away. Hull had a siege mentality and was also our first game of the season.
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 September 2016 Posted 26 September 2016 Baring a quite bizarre day at the ethihad did we ever do that well on the road against the big teams. Point at a under performing Chelsea side in a dead rubber, done at arsenal, done at Liverpool, note worthy point at old Trafford but plenty went there and got results last term.....Spurs was a cracking result but was fine margins, could well have ended differently, I'm sure if every side marked like they did for our winning goal we'd be picking up more points.
fuchsntf Posted 26 September 2016 Posted 26 September 2016 Just a thought... we drew twice last season with ..Manu ..................................so 2 pts We lost away the game, but if we beat them at home..thats.......3pts. We have played 6 games, so Like last season I believe 3pts are up for grabs every game. I wont pre-analyse, how we might fair, its one game at a time. Over all the years, I just speculate within short time periods... End of October / End of festive games. Upto 1st game in Jan./ upto Easter / End run in. Football is on of my enrertainments and hobbies, I will be damned if I will let myself get too miserable or stressed on the negatives, and panic through each week through the whole campaigne. Yes the defensive mistakes disappointed me this weekend and against L'pool.but its still a long long way from making me worry, or to put the breaks on my hopes or dreams for this season. Why panic/ stress oneself into the future...!!
crazyleicester Posted 26 September 2016 Posted 26 September 2016 I think CR needs to be more creative tactically and formation wise. 442 may have worked last season but it doesnt look so effective this season. Also the rules of defending have changed so that doesnt help us and in addition to that some of our personnel has changed. I have full faith in CR but I hope he is brave and switches targets and even drops some of his better players if need be. I think it was away from home at Norwich that Mahrez was surprisingly benched and he was quoted as saying Mahrez HAS to work harder. Its that type of brave decision making to give some under-performing stars a wake=up call that is needed and it is easier to do with strength in depth, something we have in some positions this season. Ive mentioned it a few times before but away from home I`d like to try a 433 with The last seasons back 5. Amartey as defensive mid and just in front of him Mendy and DD or DD alongside Andy King as Mendy is injured. Then Gray on the left, Vardy central and Mahrez on the right with Gray(or Musa) and Mahrez not having to do so much running back to goal as they do now. Of course they`ll need to defend at times but I want to see Mahrez using his energy in the final third and not spending so much time covering for Simpson. Three central mids will help cover the full backs more. I know it wont happen BTW as Slimani and the rest of the striming brigade almost forces us to play two forwards.

We didn't give up before the game had even started we took it to United in the first 20 minutes, but their first goal knocked the stuffing out of us and had the added affect of making us start doubting ourselves defending corners and we concede 2 more.
BrummieFOX Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 It's less the losing to these teams away from home and more the manner in which we did. Woeful defending and falling apart once the first goal went in - both things that didn't happen last season and thankfully things that should be able to be sorted out on the training ground.
