It's stories like these why you can't help but appreciate Serie A currently. You look at your top divisions across Europe and most have been sanitised one way or another. Instead, Serie A still has that raw emotion and bonkers nature to it which is lost elsewhere. You only have to compare the recent Inter v Juve game to last night's Liverpool v Manchester United game to find that progress doesn't occur in TV deals and the marginalisation of the average fan.

Yeah, true enough. Kind of assumed it'd go down the pan over there when the government brought in the Tessera del Tifoso ID card, but thankfully it doesn't seem to have sanitised the stadiums as much as originally thought.

You'll always have ultra disputes with the clubs and authorities too - but that's simply the culture. There just isn't enough money into the country allowing new stadiums to be built making it easier to control (still Juve's atmosphere appears top with their new gaff).

They're just generally a lot more nuts over there, our lacking atmospheres is just as much to do with our British stiff upper lip and self conscious sense of embarrassment as anything else.

To some here, shouting at the football makes you odd. To the Italians it's par for the course.

They seem a lot less uptight as a nation.

I mean I just can't see the Holnesdale Fanatics standing outside Benteke's house waiting to call him out. lol

Less uptight ? You haven't seen much of series one and two of Gomorrah !

Italys inner city's are teeming with passive aggressive Nazi or Communist types (depending on which city or part of italy your in) and football is the cog that these ultra types use to turn them into violent morons , they use football to justify extreme violence and social disorder, they aren't super fans just uber idiots

give me the British stiff upper lip all day long !

Think you misunderstand what I mean by uptight.

I'm also not saying either Italy or Britain are better than the other.

I read a little bit about this yesterday after Scouse posted something.

He threatened to bring 100 criminals over from Argentina and kill the Curva Nord where they are stood lollol

And people got upset over Vardy slagging Cambiasso off a little bit.

If Vardy threatened getting the supporters murdered by his gang of friends from Sheffield, there'd still be some people defending him on here :D

I assumed you'd gone out and fashioned a little tin foil medal and everything.

Why?
