He was lucky to get the LCFC when he did (Just signed a world class player in Kante, had a solid team with fantastic team spirit, high on confidence following the 14-15 season) We won the league with him in charge. I'm going to go ahead and suggest that is why people bum him. You make it sound like Leicester City would have won the league with anyone in charge. A team that barely stayed up the season before.

Yeh but I'm saying he got quite lucky with the timing etc, everything was on the up and confidence was high. Do you think he would have won the league last year if he took charge of Villa instead?

No, but bumming a manager that gave us a premier league title isnt completely ridiculous no matter what is happening this season. Nobody thought we would win the league.

A team needs to show desire and progress, we are showing neither and we shouldn't keep him just because of last season. Hopefully he can leave by mutual consent with his head held high
justfoxes Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Well if the players are revolting then they should be ashamed of themselves they earn thousands and some over a hundred thousand pounds a week to put in a shift every week and if they've fallen out with Claudio for some reason then they take it to the top not put in substandard performances then blame it on lack of confidence more like lack of respect or lack of commitment to me ! if it's found to be lack of respect and they are choosing not to play for Claudio then they should be fined each week for 6months as much as the premier league allows a club to fine a player!! After all this club will still be here when those wanna be prima donnas leave !!

It is no coincidence that the two players who still have something to do and could go on to better things (Ndidi & Grey) are the only two getting any credit today. The rest are not trying. If they have given up then, without a massive turnaround in their mentality, they will be relegated. It could be a straight choice between clinging on to a manager because we love him, and we want to be seen to love him, or potentially staying up. Performances have been inexcusable, and I suspect that's been both consequence and cause of a lot of behind-the-scenes bickering, some of which Ranieri won't be to blame for. But we're not in a position to point fingers at anyone (other than, if you wish, Ulloa) for anything other than their performances. On the other hand we've seen many actions on the club's, and Ranieri's part which could reasonably cause doubts to surface in players' minds. Patience paid off in 2014-15 but there are few parallels. We were widely praised back then as a humble but competitive, newly-promoted side which struggled for results. There was a good argument to sack the manager at one point, but he was learning his trade at the top level and the players were behind him, so we didn't. Correctly, it turned out. It's hard to compare this scenario with the current one wherein the champions - surprise ones or not - are divided and slipping towards the drop zone, in spite of the greatest squad / wage budget investment in the club's history. Ranieri was the right man in the right place at the right time, but times have changed. The biggest difference between 2015 and 2017 is that it's unlikely that this side has the unity, belief, application or physical fitness to suddenly 'click' and pull itself out of trouble under the current management. Fair or not, these are things which can, if you're lucky, come with the right managerial change. I'm not saying that Ranieri needs to go now - I think he should try, at least once, to put out a side which he thinks is behind him. If it means sidelining Vardy, Schmeichel, Mahrez, Drinky, then the board should give it their blessing. However it's easy to see why they might prefer to sack Ranieri instead. It's looking increasingly likely that, if our aim is to stay up, and not to pay homage to the fairy tale prince, it's our best shot.
esoog Posted 5 February 2017 Posted 5 February 2017 Like to see Ranieri stick with us if we go down. Get rid of the crap and get us back up again. He he deserves legendary status I couldn't care about the Rowett bum chum team

No conspiracy theory, it's the pattern that's emerged going back to the 2-2 draw with West Ham during the run-in last season... Look at the way Drinkwater has been red carded twice in the past few months, once for very mild contact on Depay, the other an admittedly over-zealous challenge vs Watford, but still, no benefit of the doubt like players from the big clubs get... Or Vardy being dismissed vs West Ham when he shouldn't have been on a yellow in the first place.. His dismissal vs Stoke for what Danny Murphy and Shearer agree was a "very good tackle".. Then his appeal being denied when someone like Mane had his appeal accepted for a poor ariel challenge on Peters... Then there's Rojo and Barkley staying on the pitch for far worse challenges, blatant fouls actually... Then Barkley playing in the very next match vs Us in which he set up their 2nd goal when he shouldn't have even been on the pitch if the same rules were applied as was to Vardy...Mata being allowed to stay on the pitch for a shocking late challenge on Vardy, then scoring their 3rd...Spurs players STILL not being red carded when they should have been on several occasions this season... Compare and contrast and you'll see the FA have marked our card somewhat. I mean, how do you explain the inconsistency and the numerous coincidences in which we don't get the same benefit of the doubt that the likes of Everton, West Ham, United and Spurs get? And we're the defending champions!!!??

It was a team full of 11 Ranieri's. why does element deserve a pass and the other deserve ridicule? I don't understand it. Some fans think it's blasphemous to say a word against ranieri but it's open season on the players who ran themselves into the ground getting there. He was not the only element.
