Head Honcho Posted 10 October 2005 Posted 10 October 2005 Started watching City in the 1980s, my top 3 poor players in this category were.... 1. Kjetil Oswald (Norweigan on loan in 1988) 2. Rob Johnson (Pleat buy - cr*p) 3. Mick Kennedy - who we swapped with Bradford for Jimmy Quinn (doh !!) Always h*te Pleat for getting rid of Jimmy Quinn - tw*t !!!! P.S. We could do with him now at the age he was when playing for us There was a good reason for Pleat selling Quinn. Don't know if you remember but in his last game for City he was substituted at half time, when Pleat told him this he(alledgedly)went over and Twatted him. I have this on good authority by somebody who was in the dressing room at the time.
Gené and Tonic Posted 10 October 2005 Posted 10 October 2005 I have this on good authority by somebody who was in the dressing room at the time. Pleat?
reynard Posted 10 October 2005 Posted 10 October 2005 There was this guy in the 1970s called scott hamill?? signed by jock wallace from highland league club he was a part time milkman at the time. can't remember how many games he palyed for us but he was truly awful.
Deathside Posted 10 October 2005 Posted 10 October 2005 The human Stick insect. I saw him take a swing at a shot, he missed the ball, his left swung back and kicked his standing leg on the back swing! But yes, a legend... That's my abiding memory of Ormandroyd - at Portman Road - Through on goal, 1 on 1 with the Horses keeper, and he tripped himself up - in the days when away fans were behind the goal I do believe - And seeing as you hail from that neck of the woods I guess that's the game you refer to? It was one of his first games for us and a clue of what was to come Finished 0-0 I believe Also remember a league cup tie at Old Trafford (think we lost 4-1) - Manure fans were singing Ryan Giggs song and Leicester fans replied with Ormandroyd, Ormandroyd running down the wing Ormandroyd, Ormandroyd running down the wing loved by the blues, feared by the reds Ormandroyd, Ormandroyd, Ormandroyd
Guest seanfox778 Posted 10 October 2005 Posted 10 October 2005 does any one else think arnie used to score just as an excuse to jump all over frank sinclair because it happened quite often
Jimmy Posted 10 October 2005 Posted 10 October 2005 who cares why players scored, just wish the current lot would do the same thing

Just to clear up, I am not originally from this neck of the woods, I was raised in Stamford. I joined the RAF and when I left I was living down here. Couldn't afford the bus fare back...

Suffolk_fox Posted 10 October 2005 Posted 10 October 2005 Aw, thank you! I managed to sneak across the border a couple of weeks ago to watch the QPR match, but the men in tractors tracked me down and took me back
lcfcsoul66 Posted 11 October 2005 Posted 11 October 2005 Gary Coatsworth was Sh*t but he could score wonder goals i remember him hitting one from the Upperton Road against Luton (1994?) an it going in the top corner. Gareth Williams is woeful as well, why he's a crowd favorite i'll never know. Has he ever tackled a player while wearing a City shirt? He's even more Lazy than that other F*rest scum Alan Rogers.
Aberdeen_fox Posted 11 October 2005 Posted 11 October 2005 Or what about the Aussie keeper Zejiko Kalac, talll useless lanky keeper who got like 2 games before Kevin Poole got his place back.
lcfcsoul66 Posted 11 October 2005 Posted 11 October 2005 frank rolling? He was OK! He did his best and gave 100% you can't ask for more than that.
Aberdeen_fox Posted 11 October 2005 Posted 11 October 2005 He was OK! He did his best and gave 100% you can't ask for more than that. True but was out of his depth. Was playing Scottish Division 2 with Ayr before that FFS!
Jimmy Posted 11 October 2005 Posted 11 October 2005 Or what about the Aussie keeper Zejiko Kalac, talll useless lanky keeper who got like 2 games before Kevin Poole got his place back. you mean ac milans no. 2 keeper he's obviously improved drastically
Guest Posted 11 October 2005 Posted 11 October 2005 Ricky Hill. I remember him signing for us, there was a double page spread in Shoot at the time.
dan_84 Posted 11 October 2005 Posted 11 October 2005 How about Michael Trotter? Brian Little buy from I think it was Darlington. How many of you remember him? I do. He still lives in Leicester and works as a postman. Played against him in a 5-a-side competition the other a week I played in that tournament aswell (unathletico) trotter was still a class apart.
martyn Posted 11 October 2005 Posted 11 October 2005 ahaha I was thinking of Franck Rolling whilst reading this, he was awful Nicky Platanauer was terrible as well, I figured that out as a 7 year old going to City for the first time. In recent years Fenton, Marshall, Lewis et al are obvious mentions. Also there is no way Gunnlaugsson was a 'legend' he imposed himself less on a game than Gareth Williams did. The only way he could be classed a legend was a penchant for scoring important penalties.
martyn Posted 11 October 2005 Posted 11 October 2005 Oh yeah and I always disliked Steve Agnew, an extremely average player.
Cobbo Posted 11 October 2005 Posted 11 October 2005 Oh yeah and I always disliked Steve Agnew, an extremely average player. i thought aggers was alreet. good passer and stuff. disliked his baldness though.
Head Honcho Posted 11 October 2005 Posted 11 October 2005 i thought aggers was alreet. good passer and stuff. disliked his baldness though. Yeh i thought Agnew was alright Andy Feeley on the other hand! Does anybody remember him he was awful
Anish Posted 11 October 2005 Posted 11 October 2005 Julian Watts here for a while but was still crap Not as bad as Nicky Mohan
