sk3since03 Posted 23 May 2017 Posted 23 May 2017 Just give it Shakey and be done with it. The players have more or less said theyre happy under him and his style, why upset the applecart! He's the most stable option for this team! Only concern with Shakey i have is will he be able to attract the certain quailty of players we want!

An Away Move Posted 23 May 2017 Posted 23 May 2017 There was an educational experiment in the 1970s where teachers were asked to let their students call them by their first names and not 'Sir' or 'Miss'. Apparently it went really at first as the more informal relationship created a good bond. Later on though when discipline was needed relationships broke down and the students' respect was lost because there was a lack of 'a line'. That's my complicated way of saying this is what I fear about us appointing 'Craig'. We surely won't have this problem with Mr Mancini.
Babylon Posted 23 May 2017 Posted 23 May 2017 People actually worried about what players call the manager. Presume all your workplaces must be in crisis because I bet you all use names and not "gaffer".

It's not about what the players call him it's about the boundaries and loss of respect after a while. I bet Sir Alex Ferguson didn't have blurry boundaries in the relationship with his players.

I agree with you but Sydenhamfox makes a good point. They are professionals, should be treated as such and should also behave as such. They're paid to follow directions...simple. If they don't, you loan them out to some Turkish league two team. It always works!

I had heard of this but never gave it much thought. Sounded like a tabloid exaggeration. But in case it is true, I'd say that Ranieri has never been known to be spiteful. So I suspect that, because of changes in the opponents tactics Ranieri couldn't keep his promise. As for Ulloa getting upset about that, if that is the case, I'd tell him to grow the feck up!

It just dosent work like that.
