I remember the Arrow version being the big song of Notting Hill Carnival one year I was there. Early/mid-80s? Can't be more precise due to my senile dementia. The Merrymen version isn't bad, but I do prefer the Arrow one - a bit more verve and joy, with the bass to the fore. Merrymen cover is a bit too nice for my liking. Anyway, only messing around. Not getting hot under the collar about this.
