I wondered this and looked at the FAQs they say you have 365 days to activate it

You can get a free Now TV Sky Sports Day Pass (norm £6.99), which gives 24-hour access to the sports streaming service on any day in the next 12 months

Just type in your postcode wrong then they can't use your credit card

I suspect it's the kind of thing that automatically turns into a subscription if you don't cancel the free trial.

 

Amazon do the same thing with a trial for Prime. That's how they get you.

No, there is no catch, to open a Now TV account requires a credit card but no money will be taken unless you ask for other items.
