UniFox21 Posted 11 September 2017 Posted 11 September 2017 We're all aware they're now enforcing the ticket check rule in the family stand, and just wanted to share my views and whats actually happening after sitting in the stand with my dad and brother for 13/14 odd years. So walking in, had my ticket checked, no complaints as it took a matter of seconds and saw quite a few people being checked also. However, challenged a steward whether if our under 18 (my brother) was ill or couldn't make the game whether we'd still be able to get in or not. From what we were told he (he's one of the leading stewards in the stand) wasn't aware what was meant to be done, saying the club had left this grey area and he was searching for clarification. Came back to us, apparently if he's ill we have to go to the ticket office with my brothers ticket and get a card saying we can enter the game, yet if he isn't there we have to pay to relocate. So I'm fine with them enforcing the family rule, however I can point out a fair few rows of people around me with no u18 in sight, and my friends uncle got in on an u18 ticket, feel consistency across the board is needed. Basically I feel if they're going to be this strict they need to fully enforce it, but use some common sense, if a family regularly come with an u18, why make them all pay to move when the odd game arises they can't make?
Wymsey Posted 11 September 2017 Posted 11 September 2017 It's hardly the 'Family' Stand with what you mentioned and also the fact that there's constant reports of grown men swearing at children and vice versa..

Vast majority is probably turn, I'm just talking about my block. But the years of letting everything slide has sort of come back to bite them now when they're putting their foot down
Sambiasso Posted 11 September 2017 Posted 11 September 2017 I think anyone who is genuinely attending the football with their children doesn't have a problem with it, if people/families didn't take the piss with it then it wouldn't be so bad, last 2 seasons I've had to put up with groups of pissed up knobheads in the family stand. I don't mind the language but I don't want my son to hear it, hence why we sit in the family stand. Yes, they have let it slide for a while but it was about time they did something about it. Cap the children's age bracket at 16 and introduce a young adults bracket with a discount elsewhere in the stadium. Not sure why adults would even sit in the family stand unless they are that tight they won't pay the extra £50-60 on top of their season tickets.
ramboacdc Posted 11 September 2017 Posted 11 September 2017 If i could get in the family stand when i take my daughter i would but its always full. last time i managed to get in was southampton the season we won the title. even then full grown men in there with no kids shocked me.

I don't think the "Family Stand" should be for some bloke to take his 16/17/18 year old grown up kids. Family Stand should be for just that - families with younger children, face painting, photos with Filbert etc . People have obviouslty been taking the piss for years, and it needs sorting out. Having said that, they need to be consistent with the pricing policy. There is no real good reason why a seat in SK1/2 should cost more than one in the family stand when they are identical views. Likewise for East/West stands. If there are additonal concourse facilities then fair enough, you can ask people to pay more.
FoxesDeb Posted 11 September 2017 Posted 11 September 2017 I have 2 for this in the family stand, one for me and one for my daughter. Said daughter now can't make it so I've tried to relocate, but there's nothing left apparently. The bloke at the To told me I can still use the ticket alone, but to be aware that I will be stopped and told not to do it again...
Russell sprout Posted 11 September 2017 Posted 11 September 2017 Annoys me as I Carnt take my son who has a membership as I Carnt get him a single ticket as it would mean him sitting by himself,(me and his sister have a season ticket)there is a spare seat next to me for all but 2-3 games a season where a family of 3 go without there son,it's pisses me off big time cuz the adults sit in the family stand without there son who doesn't go taking up the seat my son could have

It's such a difficult situation as the club can't kick people out yet there are a lot of people who misuse the system
