Hi guys,

Not been on here a while since I returned to uni, but what a job Puel is doing with the boys. Really think we'll be going on another European tour! Also, how good does Diabete look? He literally just has such a Mahrez feel about him.

As part of my final year at university, I am conducting primary research exploring the your views of the Premier League’s brand characteristics and those of its sponsors. To participate in this questionnaire you need to be aged between 21-45. I would really appreciate it if you could spare 5-10 minutes to participate in this research. Please do not answer if this does not apply to you, however I would be extremely grateful if you could pass this link onto anybody you know who you think may be interested in taking part. Many thanks!

I hope I have put this topic in the correct forum.

I feel like i should apologise, i started filling out the form but my short attention span got the better of me, i'm not sure anyone has ever described Barclays, Cadburys or Carling as "Rugged" though...

Don't worry about it. Those personality characteristics are taken from a widely accepted model within the concept of brand personality. I agree that some of those characteristics aren't at all applicable to the brands. Thanks for giving it a go though!

Out of curiosity, what's the thinking behind only surveying people aged 21-45?

Are old gits like me (55, so ineligible) deemed immune to influence by brands?

I actually feel quite young when I go to the stadium - more fans older than me than there are younger, I'd say.

Not sure if that's because of cheap season tickets for pensioners or because the old have more cash than the young.....making them an important consumer market for brands, or maybe not?

No offence taken, just curious. Good luck with your research.

I've had to work quite closely with my supervisor on this - I was campaigning to remove any age restriction as being a ST holder myself at the KP, I know the wide range of age ranges that attend and watch games. But unfortunately my supervisor was keen for me to enforce an age criteria into my study. If I was to do it again I would definitely include a larger age bracket.

Cheers mate

Would be interested to know the outcome. Good work on not including any qualitative questions in there, I got some very interesting responses on a second year research project questionnaire that I posted on here...

I fall outside the age parameters, but if you'd like comments from a Senior then just let me know.

The beauty of the software I've used to make the survey, I can update the questions even whilst they're live. So I may consider including a wider age bracket and reflecting on this in the report by suggesting how my pilot survey highlighted how the audience of the PL is so diverse.

I will keep all updated, many thanks

When I was in Australia in 1990, I worked as a market research interviewer for about 4 months, including face-to-face in streets/shopping centres.

I'd have a quota by age and gender, so late on would end up desperately scanning passers-by, looking for an 18-24-year-old man and a 50-60-year-old woman or whatever.

Could get awkward when you finally got a likely candidate to stop, listen to your explanatory spiel and agree to take part.....only for you to do the age-screening and discover that the "50-year-old woman" you'd stopped was actually 35.

I had a laugh at that job. I remember doing a taste test for cheesy popcorn and interviewing a Hell's Angel and a homeless guy (he really scoffed down the popcorn, loved it and gave a P.O. Box as a contact address). Also interviewed a dwarf about the services at a bank. When asked about potential improvements, he genuinely asked for the cash-points to be lower in the wall. Also did phone surveys, one of which was about beer - one evening, I phoned a random number and there was a wild party going on. The bloke did the survey with some spectacular responses to questions about how much beer he'd drunk that day and that week. :D

Done.

Think i described the Premier League as cool, exciting, good looking, successful, and up to date

I'm well outside of the age parameters set, but really curious as to the reasoning behind it, surely brand surveys should cover the widest age group, also it may be therapeutic for my oncoming Altzheimers.
