Does anyone know how to purchase a ticket if you have been successful in the ballot?

I've won a ticket in the ballot, yay! I don't know how to purchase this ticket though as when I click on the match and add a ticket, they all cost money wheras shouldn't they be free?

It’s to ‘win’ the chance to buy a ticket.

Sounds great till you watch a game and realise how conned you’ve been lol

Wait, what? We already have the chance to buy tickets though so I really don't understand

 sorry, can't help but laugh here.

The members ballot is to ensure that you can definitely buy a ticket before they go on general sale - i.e. if you are successful in the ballot the main benefit is that you are guaranteed the chance to buy a ticket.

As you point out, yes, you could most of the time buy a ticket when on general sale. The issue there is that they don't often have seats sat together, so if there's more than one of you going, this is a real plus.

The main advantage though will come with the Chelsea FA cup match as its unlikely you will get a ticket if you aren't a member.

Ok thanks. I only go to matches on my own so I couldn't see it from the 'getting seats together' point of view and have usually managed to get tickets to games when on general sale. For the Chelsea match I have two friends who want to come, will it be possible for me as a member to buy three tickets? Sorry I bet I sound like an alien to you wise lot

It is possible but only when it goes to general sale, unless your friends become members.

Sorry, no, you can only buy as many tickets as you have membership for :(. If it makes you feel better though, you do tend to get a cheaper price if you are a member (normally save about £5 for cup matches), and I think you would have been pushed to get tickets for Chelsea in general sale as Chelsea fans have a really high allocation.

Oh noooo, but they really wanted to come with me. Do you think I should chance waiting for general sale and trying to get tickets for us all or should I just purchase my own in the fox member pre-sale period and presume that I wouldn't manage to get tickets for them anyway?

I would definitely get your pre-sale one first and then see if you can get three together if there is a general sale (I honestly think its unlikely tbh) and then you can sell the pre-sale one on here. Think you would need a different account to do that through though as it doesn't normally let you buy two tickets for the same match on the same account.

Ok thanks, I'll do just that. Stupid Chelsea fans taking up half the stadium!

There's always a chance they will send some tickets back, but seems unlikely. They have had to turf season ticket holders out of their normal seats because part of Chelsea's allocation is taking up seats Leicester fans normally sit in.

Oh gosh, if I was a season ticket holder I wouldn't be happy about that. Yeah I don't think they would be sending any back either. Well let's hope we beat em and give them a reason not to come back and occupy our seats ever again!

as A member when can I buy more then one ticket for a game let’s say Newcastle game for example? When they come available for members it won’t let me buy more then one and I realy want to take me brother and my mate ?

A membership allows you to buy only one ticket, only when it goes to general sale can you by more.

This is probably for the best as  it seems everyone and their dog wants to buy tickets for the Chelsea game.

Unfotunately,  Don’t think many will make general sale, you might be lucky enough if you’re quick though.

edit. The Newcastle game will definitely reach general sale though

Morning, I know it's sort of been explained already, but the ballot isn't for Free tickets, it's for the chance to purchase one.

In short it was the club's way of being able to sell as many memberships as possible (make money) with the lure of being able to apply for tickets.

So they set up the home points priority scheme to please those that had been to games last season, and held a membership already, but put in place the ballot system, meaning those below the required lower limit (now set at 20 points for most games) so mainly new membership holders, had the chance to enter the ballot and get tickets.

The theory behind this was that based on the previous 2 years, those on 0-15 points stood very little chance of getting tickets, as the sell out rate was very high over the course of those 2 seasons, this however has proved not to be the case and tickets are being sold to season ticket holders after members have had their window as we are no longer selling out for a lot of the so called lesser games.

I had 2 memberships on 19 points at the start of the season and was lucky enough to get drawn in the ballot for Brighton meaning I instantly made it to the bottom level and have managed to get tickets for every game since, placing them in the top bracket now.

Hope this makes sense to you, essentially if you have more than 20 points, there is literally no point entering the ballot as the tickets still cost the same and you may well have just brought them in your priority window.
