I feel both Maybury and Sheehan are capable of pushing forward and helping out in attack. I remember Alan Maybury's debut against Blackpool and he put in a couple of good crosses. Not sure about Sheehan's crossing ability but he can certainly run with the ball and pass a football. Sound like the basics don't they but the players out there this evening struggled to do those things. I think they'd offer us both width and defensive ability. Although he hasn't played there for City and people say he isn't disciplined enough, I think the defensive midfield role is made for Tiatto. If the two more attacking midfielders infront of him, Hughes and Williams, weren't playing high enough up the pitch then he would take the ball and go past them. He wouldn't wait for movement infront of him like we were doing tonight. He could easily turn from a holding player into an attacking component of the team. Hughes and Williams should be looking to make runs into the box none stop although Williams is usually reluctant so he may loiter around the box waiting for any loose ends that come his way. Hume should be given almost a free role. Let him make runs and drift around the lone striker. The lone striker, well MDV although he isn't right for the role. I'm not sure who is fit for that role at the club tbh. I still think that formation would create enough opportunities for some goals to be scored.
