Reading and former Leicester City defender Liam Moore has paid tribute to the victims of the helicopter tragedy last weekend.

Five people, including the Foxes' owner and chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, died after their helicopter crashed beside the King Power Stadium on Saturday night.

Vichai took over Leicester in 2010 and oversaw the fairytale season in 2016 when the club won the Premier League.

Moore, who spent five years at Leicester from 2011, said he knew the Thai businessman on a personal level and has paid tribute to what he did at the Midlands club.

"It was very tough to take - not only for the owner who I knew personally but the other four people involved as well," said Moore.

"He was a man who treated everyone fantastically and I had personal experiences with him.

"He went above and beyond for every single player. I was only a young lad at the time but he did that for me as well.

"It is an absolute disaster. It really rocked the city - it's where I am from and where I grew up in.

"My thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved and their families. It's a horrible time not just for Leicester but for football."

Moore, who is set to make his 100th league start for Royals on Saturday against Bristol City, added: "I think what you need to do in these situations is try and do what you're good at and try and work.

"It stimulates your mind and makes things feel a little bit better.

"Everyone that's played under him [Vichai] and worked for him should take this now as a massive push to give everything and realise how lucky they are for that platform he gave to them."
