I am watching the 1st leg of this semi final and Thailand have a striker (scored 7 goals in the group stage) who makes Slimani look like Pub Player.  We really did get our pants taken down on that transfer.

The only good thing to hopefully come from transfers like slimani and even Silva is that the Top won't let these disaster transfers happen again. I've no issue with us spending £30-40m on one player so long as they are a top class player who can really influence our team. We wont always get bargains like kante and mahrez but we need to avoid disasters like slimani. Ive no doubt that player recruitment at our club is incredibly hard as we cant compete with the top 6 but we want to try and sign better players than the rest of the rabble. Us,Everton and West ham are the best options for players after the top 6 so we need to get our recruitment right so we can continue our good work and not fall away like we did after MON left.

Well I was thinking Top could get him over for or trial for free, as opposed to lining Portuguese Teams pockets with Millions.  I think he actually plays in Thailand for a KP connected Club? His name is Asidak Kraithorn.  So perhaps a decision has already be taken - he ain’t good enough.

The standard of this game ‘ain’t bad.

This subject was doing the rounds on FT a couple of months or so ago. Are we one of the three best options outside the top 6 really?

The more coveted players from abroad (the better players, as you say) often want to live in or near London. That makes Palace and Fulham an option and, to a lesser degree, Watford. If they're the type that like a quieter existence on the coast, Bournemouth and Brighton become viable options. That doesn't mean we'd all prefer those options to Leicester but some might.

Just for the record - Thailand have no shots on target in the first half...   I seen that before.

Must be well good to score against the likes of malaysia

You make a very valid point.  I reckon if Malaysia and Thailand were transferred to the SPL, Celtic would finish 4th.  Without Benko- 6th maybe?

Out of all the teams you've mentioned, we're more unlikely to be relegated and probably have more of a chance of winning a cup and possibly getting in Europe. Everyone knows now that the people at the top of our club are very ambitious and want us to keep getting better. Not sure the same could be said for the likes of Brighton or Palace whos aim is just to avoid relegation.

I can be compared to Slimani.

Yeah but you would be cheap.

I never get this idea that Fulham and Palace, both far more likely to be relegated than us, are more attractive options than us purely because they have London postcodes.

Any player wanting to join a club outside the top six would be easily able to commute from around London to Leicester in a reasonable time scale, and the county isn't exactly Syria.
