Many Australian farmers perform a barbaric procedure called “mulesing” even though it is not commonly practised anywhere else in the world. In mulesing, workers force live sheep onto their backs, restrain their legs between metal bars and, often without any painkillers whatsoever, cut chunks of flesh from the animals’ backsides or attach vice-like clamps to their flesh until it dies and sloughs off. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mulesing

They then don't grow wool on that part (buttocks). This is so they dont get fly strike. Nothing wrong with that at all imo
Bert Posted 13 April 2019 Posted 13 April 2019 Just wondering why there’s been no uproar over the Scottish grand national today?

Seriously if your asking that question you don’t know what your dealing with, don’t argue with him, he’s the sort of extremist that would cause the sort of death and destruction that would be up there with history’s most vile historical figures going if he had any power. Thankfully the only power he’s got is the battery that powers his Toyota Prius. He’d have us all living in mud huts dying of the bubonic plague so long as the animals could run free, so needless to say he’s anti horse racing. Always been confused by the “choice” thing, animals are incapable of conscious choice they react on instincts. dunno how they work in third world countries like Australia but I’ve never heard of an animal being destroyed because they refused to get into the stalls, and talking in the broader sense I’m not entirely sure what people want. Should someone sit down with the Fole when it gets to an appropriate age and ask it what it wants to be when it grows up? Although really don’t care if it’s banned as it’s shite anyway. Having offended everyone in the entire thread I will now take my leave.

Would you be happy to undergo this "Medical Procedure" WITHOUT ANAESTHETIC?" This cruelty is done for one reason, to make the production of wool for clothing cheaper.

No its to ensure that the animal does not suffer from fly strike. This would be an agonising death [pattern emerging - Peta a) kill animals and b) want them to suffer horrific deaths]. It is not about cheap production. Medical procedure possibly the wrong term - animal husbandry procedure.
